  1. My surgeon had no limitations on coffee. He did mention that it increases the appetite in some people but that's not the case with me.
  2. Ugh...wasn't it just unbearable yesterday? We have our 12 year old nephew and my 8 year old step-son this week and next and we're trying to find things to do as well. Maybe we should get together and let them all play. We're in Hammond. Where are you?
  3. 1/2 hour of swimming 15 minutes on trampoline
  4. Thanks again, everyone. We're very excited and can't wait to take possession of the house, which will probably be the first week of August. Emilee - lol...no drooling! Diane - LBT house parties? Have I been missing out on something? Jachut - we definitely need to find an icon for that, don't we? Or rather, just take a picture of my face when I saw the inside of the house and use that. We got a great deal on the house. I suppose we were in the right place at the right time. Telly - I can't wait to meet you either! We HAVE to take pictures to share with our friends here at LBT. Oh yeah...you're bringing DOC? Hee hee, j/k. So, you're coming in August or September?
  5. Thanks, everyone. Here are some more pictures. Small living room downstairs Large living room/family room upstairs Kitchen (the barstools are going and we're getting a stainless refridgerator to match the rest of the appliances) Formal dining room Master bath
  6. Pool, hot tub, and pool house with bathroom and showers. We'll be using something other than lattice. (The pool is empty because the liner was being replaced)
  7. Thanks so much. Yes, there is a pool and a hot tub. I'll post more pictures soon. I love the porches too. I've only lived in Louisiana for a little over 2 years. I grew up in Oregon and then lived in New Jersey for 9 years prior to moving here. My husband has lived in Louisiana for about 14-15 years. We currently live in Hammond but this house is in neighboring Livingston Parish.
  8. The front door. (All the doors are distressed wood and have beveled glass) Stained concrete floors in the living and dining rooms, and the kitchen. Front yard Back yard
  9. Thank you! No screen or glass porch but the porches are gorgeous. In the shade, it's bearable even in hot and humid Louisiana.
  10. The seller just accepted our offer, we should be moving in the first week of August. I LOVE this house!! It's a 5 year old Victorian, 2880sq ft living, over 4000sq ft total, on 2 acres. The outside of the house (That's not the street you see there, it's a circular driveway, the house sits quite a ways back from the road)
  11. Woo hoo Amy!! I'm so happy that you've figured out that last detail.
  12. Wow Amy! I'm sure you're a bit disappointed but I'm happy to hear that your lap band surgery may be moved up. Keep us posted.
  13. Healthy gallbladder still intact and accounted for here.
  14. For the record, I am a self-pay patient but did not go to Mexico for my surgery. With that said, I have an average weekly weight loss of 2.05 pounds. Like some of the others, my weight loss happens in spurts. I'm a little over 9 months out and have stalled a few times (like now).
  15. Kristin - that's a beautiful dress. I look forward to seeing the wedding photos. UGH @ FUPA. I want mine to go away NOW!!
  16. Damn skippy, it does!
  17. I ordered a pilates book yesterday and can't wait to get it so that I can try it out.
  18. My surgeon specifically forbid any exercise beyond walking for 8 weeks following surgery. After 8 weeks, the sky was the limit.
  19. Diane, that's a great incentive. I think I'll do a spa day and a new wardrobe when I hit my goal. Hopefully it will be just in time for our cruise. Speaking of which, if anyone is interested in joining us, we're going on a Western Caribbean cruise with Norwegian Cruise Lines out of New Orleans from December 10-17. Send me a message and I'll give you the info.
  20. Psst...it's duct tape. :biggrin1:
  21. You're right, it is very subjective. I'm so happy that I'm not lactose-intolerent.
  22. Awww Diane...I hope things get better for you very soon. I sort of had a day like this today because I chowed down on anything and everything I could get my hands on. I made horrible, HORRIBLE food choices today. This is so unlike me but I guess we all have our momentary lapses of good judgement. My only saving grace was that I walked for an hour and rode my recumbant bike for 2.5 miles. I'm also in desperate need of a fill but won't get one until I return from our upcoming trip to Florida. I don't want another episode of being too restricted and not be able to get an emergency unfill. So...I told my husband today that if he sees me putting any type of junk in my mouth between now and the 12th of July to take it away from me.
  23. 1 hour walk and 2.5 miles on recumbant bike
  24. Here is a thread that explains abbreviations http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=7959
