  1. I am 4 weeks post-op tomorrow and am still easing back into work. I had 2 full weeks at home to heal and I NEEDED IT! Last week I worked Mon-Wed-Fri half days and I was exhausted by the time I got home, but each day was better. This week I'm planning to work half days all week, then resume full-time next week. I think any WLS is such a huge trauma to your body, we need at least a few weeks to simply recoup (plus taking walks and sipping water, of course [emoji6]). I opted to skip taking our STD for medical leave so I could still do some work from home, but if you have a good STD benefit then great! Best of luck to you!
  2. @@Shaunie So glad the scale has been more friendly to you! I have also been irregular...I've been trying to increase water and walking to "move things along" and it seems to help a bit.
  3. @@Shaunie how're you coming along now? Hoping a week has made a difference for you!
  4. Gittery...I call it restlessness, and it seems to take over each evening. Honestly, I attributed it to my inner battle between post-op recovery and OCD, watching my hubby tend to the house, lol! [emoji6]

    Constantly nauseous

Zofran is my BFF! And I keep a tissue with a drop of peppermint essential oil on it handy...I find that "waving" it around helps the nausea pass more quickly and happen less frequently...hope you're doing better soon! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  6. I gained like 10lbs in the hospital, and my hands/face/abdomen were swollen huge. Think about all the air and fluids pumped into us, and all the trauma our bodies have endured already...I'm only on Day 5, but I'll try to be patient and just focus on healing. I think our bodies are marvels! Shaunie, you'll be dropping in no time!!! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    How did you sleep?

My surgeon had me concerned about pneumonia and suggested I sleep on an incline the first couple of weeks. Forget that! I was so uncomfortable I couldn't sleep more than an hour at a time without my tailbone hurting. I've been sleeping on my side with pillows between my knees and propping my abdomen and I'm resting much better! I think it'll depend on you, and your body.

    July 5th surgery!

Agree the protein is difficult. I mix half a scoop with 4oz of water and just tell myself I gotta get it down...

  13. Seems like a long road, but it has gone quickly. Tomorrow I'll have RNY and hernia repair. Any surgery buddies out there??? Nervous and excited to get it behind me! Gonna go pack my bag now. [emoji4]
