  1. I am going for my first filll in one week and I cant wait. I think I need it but I am afraid of an over fill. I can feel my port . It actually can look at my stomach and it looks disfigured where the port is. I know my doctor will have not problems finding it. I can eat more now but had a pbing problem tonight. I ate pizza for the first time and I thought it was going down really easy but when I finished I had a problem. I went out side and threw up. I told the person who I was with that I have acid reflux and the pizza bother it. She didnt ask any more question. But the truth is that I had a bad reflux problem before and I have had not one problem with it since my surgery four weeks ago.
  2. PB is when the food isnt going down and it comes back up. I have had it happend to me three times and each time it was because I drank water to fast after I ate something and it couldnt go down. It came back up. You really have to listen to you body and the first couple of weeks after the surgery you may think that you will never be able to eat again but dont worry you will. I can eat almost anything except uncooked celery and uncook onion. The both seem to have a hard time going down. I cam do with out both.
  3. I dont feel my band but I do feel my port. I am glad to feel my port because I know that it is there that there are people who cant find there port and need a xray to get it filled. My question is how much do you get for you first fill. I know that since my surgery I am eating more now my lost weight has slowed. I am 4 weeks out from getting banded and I will get a fill in 1 1/2 weeks and cant wait. I need to feel that restriction again. I love knowing that the band is in there ,it makes me think of better food choices. Since I am eating a lot of protein I am not craving the sweets but I am craving of putting things in my mouth.
  4. My doctor required me to have a BMI of 40 or over and mine was 42. I am for the suburbs of chicago and gave the lap band to myself for a 40th birthday present. I am now three weeks out and have lost about 17 pounds. I have started to exercise everyday. If I walk, yoga, or dp eliptical machines every day or every other day. I feel great. I turn 40 in december and have a whole new out look on life. Hopefully you can get it approved.
  5. Please someone tell me if you get the hiccups . I get them all the time. I want to know why and they will not bother me as much.
  6. Thanks for the info. I am on mushie foods also. But the problem that I have is I get the hiccups everytime I drink or eat. My mom says I am swallowing to much air and if that the truth how do I stop. I have lost about 15 pounds so far.
  7. I was wondering about salads. Can you guys eat salads. I want one so bad. I am two weeks out and had a sip of wine the other night and it was no problem
  8. Dose anyone have a problem with hiccups after eating. I hiccup every time I eat. I am two weeks out after surgery .

  10. are you all saying that if you had to pay for your own lap band you can get a tax break?
  11. I used Dr. Rantis. He is in Arlington Hts and Elk Grove out of Alexian Brother hosptial. I love him and the hosptial is rated great for this procedure. They also have a great safety record.
  12. you really should be carefull with the chololate protein drinks. I can't tolerate them after my surgery. I am not sure if that is for everyone. I have my surgery five days ago and am getting very tired of the liquids.
