  1. Heck if I know! It's on the nutritionist list lol. Maybe cuz the yolks have the most calories?
  2. I would like ideas too, especially for non seafood foods. I am on soft foods now, just started Thursday. So far my main go to foods are refried Beans and cottage cheese. Scrambled egg for Breakfast. Our NUT gave us a list of items but i don't care for too many of the items. They include canned tuna, salmon and chicken, baked tofu, ricotta cheese, eggs or egg whites, greek yogurt, oatmeal, mashed bananas etc. I just can't stand the canned chicken. I've tried it with lite mayo but it doesn't help much when you are used to full fat mayo! I just looked at my NUTs menu suggestions and one thing that sounds good is a boiled egg, throw out the yolk and fill with hummus instead. Another is super thin deli turkey rolled hummus and 1/8 avocado. We are supposed to get 80g Protein per day so things without protein seem like a waste to eat oatmeal or applettuce etc.
  3. Well I feel really crappy after reading these posts lol. I was sleeved May 11 and have lost only 6 stinking pounds. We have higher protein goals than most it seems: 80 gm per day and 64 oz water. I haven't cheated at all guess I should get on the elliptical and try and burn calories,.
  4. Was scheduled to be one night but I had too much pain and nausea. I had a band to sleeve revision plus a hiatal hernia so that's why my doc kept me one more night.
  5. I had little trouble drinking any fluids, even cold water! When I saw my surgeon on Thursday for my 1 week post op, i told him how easy it is for me and he said GOOD! I told him my first soft food meal of scrambled eggs went down too easy and he laughed and reminded me that I am used to the lap band fullness I had for 10 years and that is why this seems easier
  6. I would leave a message for the doctor! No excuse for this staff, seriously. It isn't that hard to pick up a phone and call you. Call the office, tell them you want to leave a message for the doctor (be professional but sound stern, lol) and tell the receptionist your issue. I bet you will get some results real quick then
  7. Good to hear! Take care of yourself!
  8. Wishing you a speedy recovery! Check back in when you can
  9. Congratulations!! Wonderful news!
  10. Hi!! Doing well! Hubby is down 18 lbs since may 2, and I had my first post op today. Only 6 lbs tho. Had my first day of soft foods too. How are you doing? My post op was rough. I had a lot of pain, worse than previous band surgeries. Dr Monash said that it was a big surgery doing the band removal plus sleeve and hiatal hernia repair at one time. I concur because I FELT it lol!
  11. You mean with meals? No. No water 10 minutes before meal or 30 minutes after. Kristen, have you had surgery yet or still in pre op phase?
  12. Well, i welcome having you as my fellow abnormal weirdo lol! For dinner tonight I increased the refried beans to 1/4 cup and the cottage cheese to 1/8 cup. That was more satisfying so maybe you can try that! I am pretty tired of protein shakes and its only been a week. Aaaagh! I discovered Atkins Lift protein drinks and they are good. Have you tried those yet? They have 20 gm protein.
  13. I know! It's kind of exasperating for me! My husband, who was sleeved 9 days before me, still has trouble drinking water in normal amounts and really has trouble with cold water while I can gulp ice cold water down with no problem! !
  14. I am 8 days post op and went for my first post op today. I only lost 6 pounds, which I'm not complaining about! I'm just surprised it wasn't more considering what I "ate" for 7 days!! Oh well, I'll take it. Also had first soft foods today. I easily ate 1 scrambled egg today with no problem. For lunch I ate 1 ounce of refried Beans and 1 ounce of cottage cheese. Had no problems again and even 30 minutes later, I just didn't feel like it was enough food. Is 2 ounces of food per meal "normal" at this stage?
  15. I just had my revision done May 11! Congrats! I was so glad to get rid of the band!
  16. Wonderful for you !! Congratulations!! Get lots of rest and keep walking and using the breathing thingy.. I had a good day followed by a few rough days and then it got good again.. This apparently is common.. So stay strong .. I'm 9 days post op and as of Tuesday (1 week from the sleeve) I have felt human.. I'm at the salon now I'm 8 days post op!! We are almost to the day !

  18. So glad you are finally sleeved!
  19. Most of the time it's barely noticeable to anyone else but us. Really?? Oh thank you!! I have super thick hair too so that should help! One thing tho, I will be going to my hair stylist as last minute as possible before the wedding for my usual highlights, which is very hard on hair anyway. I've never had any problems with it in the past but do you think this will pose even more hair loss for me?
  20. Ok this scares the s*$t out of me. I'm one week post op and my daughter's wedding is the end of August. Should I start looking for a wig now?
  21. What reasons did they offer? Who even does nighttime elective surgeries?
  22. Seriously?????? That is an awful delay! Yet another delay too. I'm so sorry.
  23. Thank you! I considered carb withdrawal which may be why I get shaky hands quite often. I read somewhere that this might be a deficiency. I'll ask the doc tomorrow at my post op.
  24. Hi everyone. I was sleeved one week ago today. Yesterday was a strange day. I awoke feeling super weak but knew that wasn't uncommon so wasn't concerned. By early evening, my toes were tingling and as I walked around the house, it felt like I wasn't making full contact with the ground, like I was stepping on something real airy. Hard to describe and is a very strange feeling. As a result of being constipated, I took laxatives which went into full effect late last night and of course, you know the results of laxatives is always diarrhea or close to it. I'm feeling the same today. I've had no problems meeting my Water and Protein goals, take the 2 Bariatric Advantage chewables as directed, so I don't what the heck this is. I have contacted my surgeon's office, but I just am wondering if anybody else has experienced this? Thank you
  25. Ten long years! I even did it twice, but that's another story, lol
