  1. My husband too! May 2 in the morning in Tucson. Good luck to you!
  2. The surgeon prescribes it for all his patients to prevent blood clots, that's all I know. Owie.
  3. I know. I know words don't help much. I know you are feeling alone in your misery. I know you feel tired. I know your energy loss seems overwhelming. I know you feel like you're your own worst enemy. I know you feel like you've made a mistake having your surgery. I know you are feeling that you have "failed one more time". I know you want to wail at yourself--or just anyone and everyone. I know you're hurting inside and out, upside down and right side up I know. I also know: You can't "undo" the sleeve. I know you will have to reach deep down within yourself and find your determination and inner strength. I know you have to write down all of the reasons you had WLS to begin with. I know you have to read that to yourself many many times during the day--out loud. I know that prayer can't hurt. I know that at one time you wanted to see yourself in the mirror as you see yourself in your heart. I know that crying --even wailing loudly helps. I know that walking/exercising in whatever manner you can to the point when you can think of nothing except trying to breath helps to get the endorphins flowing. I know that sometimes a new hobby to concentrate on and keep your hands and mind busy helps. I know because I've been there. At times--still am. I finally know that if you can do this WLS , then so can I. Shall we-- together? Prayers going up for the both of us. I love your posts!! Can we be best friends?
  4. We like Body Fortress chocolate whey non-isolate. We mix it with 1% milk, PB2 and maybe a tad of banana. So yummy. About $18 at Walmart.
  5. 1. Exactly HOW bad do the Lovenox injections hurt? My surgeon says we have to inject ourselves for a week post op. Ugggh. 2. Do I really need a blender for pureeing foods in the 2nd week+? If I can get by without one, I'd like to save the money. Thanks
  6. I'm scheduled for a band to sleeve revision for May 11, and boy am I a nervous wreck! Seriously. Everything I am thinking, feeling, saying, is all 'normal' according to all the posts, but it still doesn't make me feel any less anxious. I've had to take more ativan than normal just to keep my heart from jumping out of my chest, lol. Uggggggggh! I'm praying that my surgeon will remove the band AND sleeve me in the same surgery, but he won't guarantee it until he gets in there and assesses the scar tissue. OMG, I can't even imagine going through this a second time, not to mention the MONEY involved. On top of my surgery date, my dear husband is getting sleeved tomorrow morning! I feel like throwing up, lol. Prayers welcomed!
  7. My husband will be sleeved this time tomorrow. My stomach is in knots, to say the very least. Asking for your prayers and good thoughts for my darling hubby Frank! Then 9 days later, I will be next. Getting a band-to-sleeve revision on the 11th, hoping surgeon will do both in one session. Dear God, I am so nervous for us both. Be well and happy Sunday ~Susan
  8. Where in az are you? My husband is getting sleeved tomorrow morning and I'm scheduled for a band to sleeve revision (hopefully in same surgery) on may 11th. I agree with you; time has dragged for us too!
  9. My husband just turned 65 and he is being sleeved. ..TOMORROW! ! AAGH! He had to jump through a lot more hoops than I had to (my sleeve date is May 11!!) because I am "only" 56. He's excited and optimistic and looks forward to putting his diabetes is remission. Good luck!
  10. @@Mburk72 have you gotten an approval yet?
  11. So these would count towards the water quota if used occasionally in the immediate post op days? I wonder about the caffeine as well.
  12. I am excited to have some fellow sleevers near by! Please keep me informed of your progress. It has been a super bumpy road in this "90" day business. Thought the bumps were over but apparently not. Not sure what the hell is going on with my approval now.
  13. I'm glad you are doing so well! That is so encouraging. Today is Frank's pre op with Dr Monash and i am so nervous for him. Regarding my case, turns out the auth I received was for the band only and not the sleeve. Not sure what the hell is going on but i feel very let down. I am not getting the band out if I can't get sleeved. Hope they have an answer for me today. Nobody is calling me with updates and it is unnerving.
  14. Aww thank you! I hope we kick butt! My husband just turned 65 and I just turned 56 so we are definitely older than most on here. I hope we are as fortunate as you to breeze through without too many problems! Good for you! Oh, I just found out yesterday so no date yet. Might still have to have EGD done, but i should know more later today I think. My husband is having surgery this Monday. Aaaaagh

  16. I just received approval for my band to sleeve revision. Can you please tell me how bad the pain was? My dr told me that it will be very sore around the port area and that overall it is a more intense surgery than a straight sleeve. Plus I must keep in the back of my head that if the scar tissue is too bad, he won't sleeve me the same day, so I may wake up unsleeved.
  17. God Bless! Where in AZ are you? I'm in Tucson and just got my approval yesterday. My husband is getting sleeved on Monday and I am freaking out for him! Best wishes! ~SusanI'm in phoenix ! Good luck and congrats its a journey but I'm hoping it will all be so worthedSent from my LGMS631 using the BariatricPal App Phoenix is my hometown! ALWAYS a Sun Devil fan!! Let us know how it goes!
  18. Best wishes to you! Just got my approval yesterday for band to sleeve revision and I've heard how much more intense that surgery is so although I'm grateful for another chance to lose weight, I am sooo scared! Plus my husband is getting sleeved this Monday and I'm worried for him. It's all becoming real. I hope you have very little discomfort and a quick recovery. God Bless!

  20. I have been soooo nervous about whether or not I would be approved for my revision, but I called BCBS yesterday and was approved! So grateful, yet extremely worried and nervous. My husband is being sleeved this Monday, May 2. This was the original plan. We both get sleeved and he goes first to start tackling his diabetes! But now that it's so close, I am pretty much a nervous wreck. We aren't youngsters like so many others out there in Bariatric Pal Land, lol. I hope we can withstand the pain/discomfort and carb withdrawal! I know I'm not saying anything new!!
  21. I read your post and understood exactly what you were saying. There was no doubt to me that you said you need to lose around 100 lbs but you would be happy at 50 or 75. I am like you. My BMI is 39 and I should lose around during 90 lbs but man would I be tickled pink to lose 75. I am 56 years old and haven't had to chase kids around for many many years but would consider it a victory to be able to do the things I love to do more comfortably, stop shopping for online muu muus , garden, and look at myself in the mirror without disgust! PS I found out a few hours ago that I was approved!!! Cannot wait to get rid of this damn band and get sleeved!!
  22. We are older with no kids in the home. My husband is retIred and i don't work outside the home. I think 2 weeks will be ok for us.
  23. Was it the shoulder pain from the gas that kept you on the recliner? Thank you for your reply☺. I still don't have an answer from bcbs for my surgery and its making me crazy, lol.
  24. Be happy. My deductible is 4k Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App I wouldn't mind the copays and crazy coinsurance amounts as much if we had a higher income lol. This is getting super expensive for us!
