Hooray!! Great job and great attitude. :D

  8. When I look in the mirror.....I still see the same person I saw 83lbs ago....I can tell the difference in pictures...but not in the mirror. Is that normal?

I think the mirror is much more subjective than it seems. My weight fluctuates daily by 20 pounds, according to my mirror!

It really does take a while for your brain to catch up with your body. For me, it is the clothes that help me realize it. I have kept some of my jeans from when I weighed 310 lbs and every once in a while I try them on. I am down 142lbs and can literally fit all of me into 1 leg of my old pants. My grown sons were shocked because they say they never realized how heavy I actually was until I showed them. Now they get it!

    4. Steph Anie

      Steph Anie

Djmohr, I started cleaning out my closet.... I still had to try on every 3x....even though I know they don't fit.... I had to keep convincing myself. My hubby was telling me today that he never realized that I had gained that much either--that he still saw me the same as the day that we met. I think I'll keep him!

  9. That day you wake up up and your bmi is down to 29.8 and you are officially no longer considered obese! HAPPY DANCE!!

      Djmohr

  10. This whole having bones thing is for the birds...they hurt when you sit on them and stuff :-p hubby is tired of me making him feel my new bones lol

    1. Djmohr

      Djmohr

Ha ha ha! My hubby is always grabbing at my bones. He seriously shocked at the fact that I have them everywhere. Oh and the ass bone is the worst. I lost every ounce of fat and a lot of muscle in my rear and it hurts to sit. I am exercising my butt off trying to build bigger butt muscle. LOL!

I am doing a crazy number of squats trying to achieve the same thing...I'm having the same exact issue with my booty!

  11. I think I have issues....since surgery I am obsessed with the cooking channel/food network and the show my 600lb life.

    1. Valentina

      Valentina

I've been hooked on "Dr. Phil". Now I'm contemplating writing to him to ask how I can stop watching him.--and you think YOU have issues?? :)

    2. jane13

      jane13

600lb life is addictive. Skin tight is painfully addictive. I see myself and I don't want to do surgery but I may consider it. The "girls" put back where they are supposed to be - yes. The rest....I don't know....

    3. Steph Anie

      Steph Anie

I can't watch skin tight....it stresses me out lol. I like the 600 lb stories where they show life post-op for the people better...I want to know how they are doing!

  12. So thankful to be living life again....74lbs ago I wouldn't have been going on weekend adventures to play in the snow with my kiddos and climbing trails covered in snow. I love life!

  14. Carrots are not my friend.....no matter how badly I wanted those 2 baby carrots....my bell did not :-(

  15. Hubby's friends are starting to call me skinny....as in hot and skinny (said to hubby--not me!).... not there yet...but I'll take the compliment!

  16. ...must go to gym......

      Daisee68

  19. Random- I am not someone who likes to cook....but since surgery I have become obsessed with the food/cooking chanels--my first choice if I'm watching tv these days...my family thinks I've lost my mind...foodie who doesn't eat???

    1. Kathy Coop

      Kathy Coop

I literally had a Facebook album called "food Imcook but don't eat" lol now I have a garden and I do a lot from scratch and I love to cook for me. I know everything that goes in my body.

    2. Steph Anie

      Steph Anie

Love it! Great idea cooking from scratch....I can't even eat enough at this time to make it worth cooking for me....my hubby has taken on the task since I'm not motivated at all to even think about it :-P

  20. Today I have lost 53% of the weight that the docter would like me to lose....omg half way there!! I am no longer morbidly obese and the doctor says I have added years to my life expectency. My goals are finally looking achievable... I can do this!

    1. Mountaingal

      Mountaingal

Congratulations. Isn't wonderful to know you can do this!

  21. That dreaded moment you are told you need to come to the trauma center to meet your spouse. It has been a rough couple of days. Hubby broke his C2 vertebrate which is right up underneath your skull. We are so blessed that he is not paralized. We spent days on the nuerology floor at our local trauma center. I didn't grab my vitamens or protien drinks (only 4 weeks post op)....I ate mushy protiens at the hosptial and took lots of walks to help with the stress. I know my vitaman levels will be a mess later this week at the dr, but I am proud of my self for not turning to food in a time where no one could blame me for doing it. Total NSV!

I am so sorry to hear about this; however, I am very happy to hear that he will not be paralyzed. I am definitely sending thoughts and prayers your way. And it is inspiring to see that you found a positive in this situation! Take care of that spouse of yours!

Sorry you are having to go through this so soon post op, and sorry you have to go through it at all. Best of luck to him, and you on both of your recoveries.

Clothes are fitting good...lots getting too big, and people are starting to finally notice. I've lost like 50 or so lbs since July, but only like 12ish since surgery date.

it's probably the legendary "three-week stall". It's very common. Mine last 2 weeks. Someone on another forum said hers lasted 3 weeks. Just stick to your plan and the weight will start falling off again.

That's the time to go. Don't worry about the scale. Make sure you are logging and take the time to review your eating with the nutritionist. Ask for suggestions & recommendations.
