3 months and 1 day post op. Down a total of 83 lbs. Life is good :-)

When I look in the mirror.....I still see the same person I saw 83lbs ago....I can tell the difference in pictures...but not in the mirror. Is that normal?

It really does take a while for your brain to catch up with your body. For me, it is the clothes that help me realize it. I have kept some of my jeans from when I weighed 310 lbs and every once in a while I try them on. I am down 142lbs and can literally fit all of me into 1 leg of my old pants. My grown sons were shocked because they say they never realized how heavy I actually was until I showed them. Now they get it!

Djmohr, I started cleaning out my closet.... I still had to try on every 3x....even though I know they don't fit.... I had to keep convincing myself. My hubby was telling me today that he never realized that I had gained that much either--that he still saw me the same as the day that we met. I think I'll keep him!

That day you wake up up and your bmi is down to 29.8 and you are officially no longer considered obese! HAPPY DANCE!!

This whole having bones thing is for the birds...they hurt when you sit on them and stuff :-p hubby is tired of me making him feel my new bones lol

I think I have issues....since surgery I am obsessed with the cooking channel/food network and the show my 600lb life.

So thankful to be living life again....74lbs ago I wouldn't have been going on weekend adventures to play in the snow with my kiddos and climbing trails covered in snow. I love life!

Today I have lost 53% of the weight that the docter would like me to lose....omg half way there!! I am no longer morbidly obese and the doctor says I have added years to my life expectency. My goals are finally looking achievable... I can do this!

That dreaded moment you are told you need to come to the trauma center to meet your spouse. It has been a rough couple of days. Hubby broke his C2 vertebrate which is right up underneath your skull. We are so blessed that he is not paralized. We spent days on the nuerology floor at our local trauma center. I didn't grab my vitamens or protien drinks (only 4 weeks post op)....I ate mushy protiens at the hosptial and took lots of walks to help with the stress. I know my vitaman levels will be a mess later this week at the dr, but I am proud of my self for not turning to food in a time where no one could blame me for doing it. Total NSV!
