  1. 244 starting weight (if not more) and current weight is 115ish
  2. Can I just vent and say I am tired of people telling me how much weight I do or do not need to lose. How are you handling people telling you that you need to stop losing or that you're too thin? I am between five two and five three and still weigh 142.... This still puts me in the overweight catagory. My Drs don't seem worried but friends and family have all sorts of opinions Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I had the same issue....but now 4 months post op---I have totally cleared my entire closet out---I lost 40 pre op and could still wear many of my same clothes for the longest time. It will happen I promise! I do think that there is less difference between regular sized clothes-- I can wear a variety of sizes right now b/c there isn't a huge size difference in them. Today I'm wearing a size 16 jean (granted they are baggy--but I also can button my 7th graders size 10 aeropostal jeans too.
  4. I kept relying more on shakes b/c I was scared of stretching my sleeve--and it was just easier---my dr told me to eat real food---your stomach can shrink down and cause issues if you don't. I stalled b/c I wasn't eating enough real food.
  5. I'm not at goal yet, but doc said he would be happy with me staying at this weight---158. I want to get to at least 144 which will put me at a healthy bmi....but in all honesty would love to see what 125 looks like. I had surgery in November 2016, so only 4 months out from surgery ---but have been losing since July 2015.
  6. 40 lbs preop...then another 43ish since surgery--I'm 3 months 1 week out from surgery
  7. You're doing great, Dub! I have thrown out all of my old clothes that don't fit.....seriously I have an empty closet right now....but I kept one of my pairs of shorts from last summer.....should make a good picture....I've lost like 20 inches off my waist.....now---where is my old letterman jacket from hs......hmmm
  8. I can't WAIT to get rid of my old clothes and start new! I just did that! My closet....it is empty...I haven't met goal yet though....so I don't want to buy much because I still have 30 to 40 lbs to go.

  10. I'm only 3 months out, but down 80 lbs...down well past my 1/2 way mark. I'm 38, and where I notice the loose skin mostly is my lower stomach----but honestly I have had a fat roll there since I was a kid and have had 3 kiddos....so I guess that is expected. I see a little under my arm, and a little on my legs....but my stomach is the only place that really bugs me now.
  11. My husband not recognizing me from behind....and then the exact same thing happened with my boss! She walked into my classroom and walked right back out without speaking to me and when I asked her she admitted that she didn't recognize me!
  12. I am from Gwinnett area...used Dr. Del Mazo....several of us on here did. I am very happy with my treatment, results, and experience.
  13. I had gotten my sleep under control pre-op...but post op my sleep has been horrible...even when I'm tired I can't sleep-- I think that adds to my long days...plus on bad eating days it impacts my energy. I have upped my protien intake to try to help with that. I am 2.5 months out.... 76lbs down
  14. I teach...have taught for a ton of years and normally have a great immune system. I had surgery mid- November and now in January I feel like my immune system is just run down--I had strep 2 weeks ago with a viral infection and now I'm feeling sick again with the same type symptoms. Anyone know if surgery can knock your immune system down? Thanks
  15. 180 was my "believable" weight a few years ago....now I"m 12 lbs under whoot whoot!!
  16. I would die....DIE! I do have a tendancy to get preggo when I get down to about 180 (168 now) 2 forms of protection for us--tmi? but I would die if got pregnant now lol!
  17. Yes--dr said it is just getting up to quickly and our bodies haven't adjusted...I still have it...actually blacked out once. I do know that my bp is good, but on the low side now. I'm going to ask again next week when I go in for my 3 month check.
  18. 2.5 months out and cold all the time. My doc told me to start expecting it at my one month appt.
  19. Mine goes up and down within 2 lbs...I doubt you ate enough to gain 2 lbs at this point
  20. Have you tried adding Biotin to your daily meds?
  21. I have found the more protein I get in the more I can exercise...so it is tough--I still drink most of my protein.
  22. The thing is...you do have to eat healthy, workout, etc.....this is not the easy way out....it is still a lot of work to maintain this lifestyle. I have worked my a** off for every pound I have lost in the last 6 months...I don't see why everyone thinks this is the easy way to do it, b/c it certainly is not.
  23. Walking around a moving no probs.....but drinking anything was HORRIBLE. I questioned my surgery for over a month
  24. I loved having my own pjs to walk around in at the hospital...also bought some comfy slipper boot things that I used to walk around in. Chapstick was a biggie for me--i forgot it :-( I bought extra pillows for at home was glad I did.....didn't need my gas x strips.I wish early on I had kept track of my weight in a journal and taken more pics before/during the process.
