Thank you I appreciate it and I will pray for you as well!! I'm going into my 4th week post op and although things have been going ok, it is still rough!!!! It is a lifestyle change that is so mentally tough! I pray for strength for everyone! food was my drug and I abused it and it made me feel good and bad. And I miss it, but each day does get a little better.

I would say put down the chicken and just drink chicken or beef broth for Protein. I wasn't allowed chicken or beef even if it was pureed until much further out than a week.
My surgeon doesn't worry about Protein intake until you're on regular foods at around 6 weeks. Especially if you can't eat soy or dairy. What about smooth Peanut Butter or other nut butters? You can also puree bean Soups, although I couldn't handle Beans that early.
I'm at 4 months out and I feel normal - although it is a NEW normal.
My new normal is to order a hot artichoke appetizer with celery sticks instead of chips, eat maybe half of it depending on the size of the dish, and take the rest home.
My new normal is half of a small chicken breast. One egg with cheese. Most of a greek yogurt. Four or five small meatballs or one large one. A three-inch piece of kielbasa instead of a 12-inch piece.

I'm only 4 days post op and am on Clear Liquids & Protein Drinks for one week. Next week I can add yogurt, Protein pudding & small curd cottage cheese. The following 2weeks I can add chicken & fish but it must be puréed. If your stomach doesn't seem to be handling what your eating, try this plan that I was instructed to eat/drink.

    ericab65 got a reaction from ladee2279 in 12/14/15 surgery!
I just had my surgery on 12/8/15 I stayed in the hospital for 3 night but I am home now. Although I am still uncomfortable and sore I am soooo happy I had the surgery! I started this process 12/13/14 and I had to do 6months nutrition classes per my insurance then I started a new job so I pushed the surgery back. I'm 5 ft and at my highest weight I was 220 after I had my daughter in 2013. My before surgery weight was 200lbs☺️ I am looking forward to the future! I am already tired of the broth, gatorade, Water and sugar free Jello but you have no other choice!!! The difference between before and after surgery is that if you cheat post op your stomach is gonna hurt like hell and your gonna end up back in the hospital from extreme nausea and/or vomiting. Before you would cheat and nothing would happen. I can barely get get my 4oz of water and brith down so don't worry you have no other choice but to loose the weight. My husband has been walking with me while in the hospital and now I'm home we walk around the block. You'll do fine what your feeling is normal Good Luck!!!!!
