  1. was on the road for a week and came back to another nice little drop. had more carbs than usual by way of veggies and fruit while i was OOT so maybe there is something to the carb cycle theories. dropped another 3 inches in my waist this month for a total of 11 inches since surgery. My butt is miserably flat but I can work on that!

I missed the spam I guess! Thanks for the workout @OutsideMatchInside I'll check it out and give it a go. I keep telling myself to just lose lose lose as much as I can post-op and then I have the rest of my life to shape my body.

Have to keep things in perspective.

  2. I've decided on a new highly specific NSV goal after attending a concert last nite: would like to be small enough that a man lets me sit on his shoulders at a show. Just for one song! Maybe the slow song. Highly specific. But it's going to happen one day.

i am doing a meet and greet with KISS in february. i would like to lose my 20 pounds i have left before then. i would love paul stanley seeing a lean, fit, me. he, himself, is 65 and is in great shape. the man has some serious arm muscles!!!!

  3. I'll be 4 months post-op this week. Down 50 lbs, loads of inches, several sizes. I've been too busy celebrating my victories to notice I "only" dropped 4 lbs this past month. Proud of myself for not getting frustrated and focusing on the gains, not the scale! Working the program and its working for me. A little anxious that some say the honeymoon period only lasts 6 months and I'm closing in on that. I hope I have the strength to maintain my new habits as things get harder, as quite frankly this has been so easy for me so far. Ahhh so many changes! But life is good! Thanks BP for providing a place to vent and teaching me so much.

If/when your rate of loss slows more than you'd like, remind yourself of your current pride in not caving in to frustrations. Here's a wise quote I found: "...focusing on the gains, not the scale!" Let that carry you all the way.

My surgeon informed me that it was really the 6- 12 month period (maybe longer-can't recall) that was the true honeymoon phase. Shocked the heck out of me when he said that! Yes, we see big drops those first 6 months, but after, it is your work, eating and using your tool that makes the biggest impact on loss- your body is no longer doing it on its own but you in CONJUNCTION with the surgery.

      You are rocking this!!!!

  4. I have my 3 month check-up tomorrow. Down nearly 50 lbs since surgery day. Better yet I lost a whopping 8 inches from my waist, 5 inches from my thighs! Shopping is fun again. Everything is fun again. I have to figure out how to post pics so I can show off. The ego boost is real.

And yeah, I think it's working. I'm pretty vain and have been taking lots of photos lol. Also got confirmation from an outside source lmao.

  6. My reaction to watching the VMA's? Signing up for a 30 day squat challenge. Can't let this butt get any smaller/droopier......

  7. I need to start eating less cheese. I am turning into cheese. Need better lean protein sources!!!

I agree, cheese IS a reason to live. Chicken is pretty high in protein if you are looking for a good source, but it's not as nice as cheese ;-)

  10. Back in the USA, 3 and a half weeks post op, stepped on the scale and looks like I dropped 5 lbs on my trip. That's 25 lbs since surgery. I set my expectations at 1.5-2 lb loss per week so it's going to be quite some time before I offset that average with this head start. Damn. Amazing decision, I feel like a million bucks.

Congratulations! I am happy for you. I am also glad you have realistic expectations. 1 to 2 lbs per week average really is about right and it all evens out in the end. Some lose faster and some slower but in the end it seems most of us get there as long as we remained focused.

Thanks! I thought it would take months to lose this poundage so I'll keep that foremost in my mind when the weight loss inevitably slows and evens out. That or I need to buy a new scale !

  11. 3 weeks post op. Walking almost 9 miles a day in a foreign capital. Haven't tried the cuisine LOL. But loving it anyway :-)
