I do miss bread, pasta, pizza. Occasionally, I use egg roll wrappers as a pizza crust. I don't do it much because of the carbs, but when I'm craving it it hits the spot.

Just turned 23 and that is a huge concern for me as well. I'm single and I fear dating after wls. Our generation is completely into physical image. I hope I "snap back" well after surgery. I've already made up my mind to get a breast lift after reaching my goal weight. ???? Breast lift is def one thing I want to do.

I haven't had any issues with fruit. When I was cleared for fruit I did a bunch of peaches and nectarines. But, I do pineapple, grapes, apples and bananas. I find apples feel me up really fast so I can't eat many.

Tall Women, Tell Me Your Story!
lifeofblair replied to AshleyMidwife's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
So, what's with the huge difference between docs? My doc says I need to be at 149 at 5'11". Let's call it 150 foe me and 180 for you. 30 ponds is like 20% of ones bodyweight at that size (give or take). That seems like a huge discrepancy, or one of us is getting set up to fail. Puzzled, me. I'm not sure what the difference is. I know I would be a skeleton if I got down to 150. I'm aiming for 170. -
Tall Women, Tell Me Your Story!
lifeofblair replied to AshleyMidwife's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm 5'11 and my surgeon's range for me is 180-210. I honestly would like to get a little under 180 just to have wiggle room, but we will see. -
C25K speed question from a very novice runner :)
lifeofblair replied to walkinggirl's topic in Fitness & Exercise
When I do it, I walk about 3.5 or so and run 4.5 but it took me longer to get that fast. -
Wondering if I'll be successful
lifeofblair replied to lovemyself86's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
On soft foods I was able to do canned tuna, refried beans, eggs, yogurt and such. I never had any trouble tolerating food. -
I think the drain was the worst part for me. I sleep on my side and it was so uncomfortable when I had it. I was so glad to get it out.

I have an Apple Watch. I highly recommend it if you have an iPhone. Although I know it can be pricey.

Sounds interesting! Where do you get them and how many carbs? You can get them at Vitamin Shop, but if you like them it is cheaper to order online. The chocolate is my favorite and it has net 15g carbs (http://www.flapjacked.com/collections/mighty-muffins/products/double-chocolate-mighty-muffin-1)Awesome! Thanks, I ordered the sample pack. Not sure I would have gone for the 15 carbs doing the losing phase, but I'm in maintenance and they look great for that!I love cinnamon, so I add a little extra to the cinnamon apple one. It's my second favorite.Ok these are so good!!! I did the Peanut Butter one---YUM! Then my husband stole the s'mores one and my daughter the maple pumpkin one. I don't know if j will be able to keep them around. Glad you like them!! I have only tried the cinnamon and chocolate ones. I'm not a big pumpkin and peanut butter person. I do want to try the smores one though. -
<sigh> I gave in....
lifeofblair replied to birdiestofbirds's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel like it's a lose lose situation either way. 1. I dump from sweets or 2. I don't and know I can eat them and fall back in my old habits. I think the second option scares me more. So I just stay away. -

<sigh> I gave in....
lifeofblair replied to birdiestofbirds's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not everyone gets dumping. My mom had the surgery and doesnt get it, I haven't tried anything that will cause it because im scared. I hope I have it just to keep me in check. -
Before surgery, only my mom and one friend knew. After, people started figuring it out and everybody has been supportive at least to my face.

Constipation after surgery
lifeofblair replied to brindall's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took a laxative and after taking it once everything was fine and I haven't had issues since. -
I have not and nobody has seen it. I'm sure there will come a time and I will have to deal with it

I'm in my early twenties and I do have loose skin, not as much as others, but enough where I will cover it up. I know it's part of it and like she said above it's better than the alternative.

Veterans - What Size are You After Weight Loss?
lifeofblair replied to careya123's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm a 12/14 depending on the store and was 22/24 before. I still have around 10 lbs to lose, but I don't see myself getting into any smaller sizes. I wanted to be 10/12 but I don't think there is a way to be a 10 because of how my body is built. Maybe I will surprise myself though who knows. -
Food & Social Life after surgery
lifeofblair replied to Rvamom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 24 and was 23 when I had the surgery. I still go out with friends in just smart about it. Almost everywhere has grilled chicken of some sort so that's what I end up with most of the time. And my good friends are considerate about it when they pick places asking if I can eat there. -
I'm flying in April by myself for the first time. I made sure my connecting flights were spaced out but I hate to sit bored too long also.

That's how I've tried a bunch! Quest also sent their samples in a order that my mom did for protein bars. -
What made you choose this surgery vs others?
lifeofblair replied to bigjim1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor basically said with my conditions that bypass was the best choice. I said okay. Honestly, I was fine with either surgery. -
How long until you can go back to sedentary office job after RNY GBP?
lifeofblair replied to swizzle's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had my surgery on a Monday and took two full weeks off. I honestly felt like I could go back sooner except I had a drain and that would not have been good at work. I have a pretty sedentary job too. -

Protein shake-need help!
lifeofblair replied to 4shiggles's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
The sugar free syrups are a must! Also, post op i also add sugar free pudding mix. It cuts down the protein taste from the powder. I did the premier protein before surgery and liked it but after I could barely drink it.
