Anyone from this area know if any support groups?

I'm currently 7 days post op. I understand we have made major changes to our body but I'm starting to get concerned... I get very random sharp pains in the same location. Only way to stop them is to put pressure on my stomach... It only last for a few seconds but can come in multiple attacks (randomly) Is this normal??

Thanks everyone for the responses.. Sorry with no internet it was hard to reply. So since I posted this the pain has slowly came to a halt. The doctor said it was my muscles causing the pain.

So tomorrow is the big day. Have to be at the hospital by 9 and surgery is at 11. It's finally hitting me. After years of trying. Years of the doctor telling me to go trough with this surgery and never having the strength to say I can't do this on my own... It's finally here. I'm so nervous I've broken down crying so many times I've lost count. I have a great support system but I'm scared if I can do this. Will I fail? Will I awake in the recovery room? Will I be able to make it mentally through the next few months as my body transitions and my mind wraps around the fact that I can never go back to how I was. Will I like, even love, the new me? Sorry for the venting.. I just need to get this off my chest. Fingers crossed everything goes okay.. Fingers crossed I can keep my mind in the right mind set. Here goes... New year new me.

Congratulations on everything! I hope everything works out with your revision! My name is bilijean and I'm 27 and well. My surgery for the sleeve is schedule in two days (December 30th)!! Hope everything continues to go well

I'm a little under a month from surgery date and am trying to get a lot of things in order before hand.. So any advice would be helpful! I've had a membership to planet fitness before and know the cost/equipment they have is great. However, I've always questioned joining the YMCA. To those of you out there who have experienced either of these gyms, which did you prefer? Why? Thanks again!

@@jane13 You know honestly I thought about doing something like that after I read your post!!! I've had surgery before and remember how dry my mouth was... Body craving water! I think it's hilarious/amazing you did that lol! I will definitely keep this in mind while I'm in the hospital!

My surgery date has been set! I will start my new life on December 30, 2015. On December 16 I go for a four hour long pre-op appointment ???? I'm wondering... Is there anything you would have liked to know BEFORE surgery that you know now? (Trying to think of important questions to ask at my preop appt)

@@LipstickLady It may be superficial but it is definitely a great question.. I have acrylics as well so that would be a great thing to ask about! Glad yours did not require you to take them off!

@@livvsmum I am working on my play list now! I know I will get tired of what I have now so new music has been downloaded constant lately And thank you! I kind of was geeked about my date .. Perfect way to start 2016!

@ Grand health partners is where I'm having my surgery through. Mind if I ask who your surgeon was? Mine is Dr Nagle. I've heard about their support groups. I work nights so I figured I will give it a try and go to a few of them.. See if it works with my schedule. If I find anymore I will definitely let you know!

Thank you all so much!! I don't know why but I never thought about bringing Chapstick or mouth wash which are great ideas! The pillow is as well... Makes a lot of sense! Thank you all for your responses. Definitely added a lot of these to my list.

What did you all bring with you to the hospital? I'm having my surgery locally done and have a few things in mind on what to bring but don't want to forget anything. Any tips would be helpful.
