Apple's1018 got a reaction from Lemm61 in North Carolina
I had my surgery Monday morning on April 25th. I was really sleepy and groggy at first but then Hours later, that evening I was up walking the hallway. I was released from the hospital the next day. There is some pain, but nothing i didn't expect, the pain is manageable with pain meds. My biggest problem so far is remembering to get my fluids in. The Protein Drinks I liked before surgery, I just barely tolerate now, so my taste has changed. Even Water doesn't taste the same.

GM Feb Surgery Crew-- I found chamomile tea to be a calming agent for the gas. I'm more of a coffee drinker, but my wife made me a cup of tea with a Splenda when I started experiencing gas pains in my left shoulder (first time since surgery)...surprisingly I was relieved within 5 minutes or so. I'm not sure if it made a huge difference, but our brand of choice was Mighty Leaf Chamomile Citrus Herbal Tea. I thought it was worth sharing. We will try peppermint tea at some point today.

I got the approval from my insurance today. I'm so happy. My surgery is the 18th. I start the liver shrinking diet on the 10th. I'm cleaning out my refrigerator and cupboards.

Its okay to be scared. I'm scared too. It is surgery. I'm also excited and looking forward to life after surgery. Just know your not alone. Reading and participating in these forums help. We're all going through this together.

I have tried several different Syntrax Nectar Protein Shakes. I've tried Syntrax Nectar's chocolate truffle, fuzzy naval, and the Cappuccino. I love the chocolate truffle shake the best. I mix it with unsweetened almond milk. It's so good. It taste like the real thing. I used unsweetened apple juice with the fuzzy naval. It was okay, but I'm not too keen on the taste. The cappuccino was good with unsweetened almond milk. I like your idea of mixing it with real coffee. I'll have to try it. Thanks.
