I have Aetna in NJ. My 1st visit with the NUT 233.9lbs, 2nd visit 235.0, 3rd visit 233.5 4th visit 233.0. BMI 40-42. Coordinator submitted to Aetna 3/14. Approved for band to sleeve revision on 4/12. Surgery is scheduled for 6/7. Weigh yourself weekly and replace meals with Protein shakes when you can it will help get ready for post op. I started preop clearence appointments 12/8/15. Cardiology, Psychology and Pulmonary all cleared in January. Today I completed the required 90 day nutrition counseling. After my appointment with the sugeon in 2 days they will submit to Aetna. Hopefully it won't take long for Aetna to complete the review and make a decision. Your plan should mention something about weight gain. My plan required an exercise program with documentation. Hi Everyone - I have a lap band and it has not worked out for me so my goal is to have the band removed and get the sleeve. I've been cleared by cardiology, pulmonary, psychology and am going to my second nutrition session next week. I have Aetna who requires 3 sessions with registered dietician within a 90 day period. I have not lost weight during the first month. Slightly concerned that Aetna will deny. My surgeon's office will submit the request after the last nutrition session. Has anyone been in a similar situation that lead to denial?
