  1. Hi Miss Vicki, I am having my surgery on Feb. 13 at 9:45am. I am a mother & grandmother. My grandaughter lives with us and needs a grandma as she said, "That will be like the other moms and can go jogging and run around at the park with her". That's my motivation. I am 50 years old and let this weight take over my life, I wan't my life back. Just because we are older does not stop us from wanting the best life we can have.
  2. Hi, I have started my liquid nutrition drinks that my doctor put's you on 6 days before surgery. They taste bad but are to help with a quick recovery. I know I will be ok, my daughter had hers done 2 years ago and she has lost 145lb.
  3. Hi, My name is Maria and I have a date of Feb. 13. After a two year fight with BCBS of IL, switched to UHC and was approved after only 5 days.
  4. What I can say is make sure you have a five year history of obisity, you must have done a 6 month diet and not have missed for any reason. Have a 40bmi or 35bmi but must have two of the comorbids that they require. I missed one month in my first 6 month diet (because I was admitted to the hospital and missed my appointment. Also I had history back to being 13 years olf of being overweight. But was a borderline diabetic, I turned diabetic on 9/15/07 and had then resubmitted.
  5. I sent in my paperwork on 1/3/08 and was approved 1/10/08 with United Heath Care. I have fought with Blue Cross Blue Shield of IL for the last two years. They are so hard to deal with. When I finaly was approved by them on 12/15/07 and my insurance was changing on 1/1/08. Neadless to say I could not get sceduled that quick so I had to resubmit. Well I am approved now.
