Ok so I've been just creeping and watching everyone. I'm concerned about myself though. Everyone is saying how they can't eat and aren't hungry and get like 500 cals a day...I can eat, I'm hungry. Average day for me is anywhere from 60-100 g of protein, 20-40 carbs (mostly good a couple bad) and up to 1000 cals. I haven't started working out yet but I've been step counting. Lost 40 lbs the first two weeks (probably because I didn't eat at all just drank water and I started heavier than almost any of you at 396). Scale hasn't moved in 3 weeks. But I've gone down 4 sizes. I can tolerate any foods. And I've had a few bad things here and there. I can only eat a handful of bites at meals. Is there anyone like me? I'm afraid this is all I'll lose.

    Your support person

My husband took a week off. He was with me for 6 days after surgery. I wanted him longer though lol. I was a weird case. Pain didn't go away till exactly one month after surgery. I took 3 weeks off of work and I'm glad I did. Good luck!
  4. For those of you who've gotten pregnant after gastric sleeve, how long after surgery was it? I know we are supposed to wait a year I'm just curious about your experience. So please, if someone answers honestly, do not preach to them. I'm just looking for some real life stories.

    3 days out not hungry

I didn't eat for almost two weeks. Exactly two weeks out I woke up hungry. Stay hydrated. Your body has protein reserves it can resort to but you need your water. Good luck!
  6. I was in pain till exactly one month out. I was surprised at how long it took because others made it seem so easy. Wait it out. It gets better.

    Coffee drinkers

What store do y'all find the torani syrups from?

    Coffee drinkers

Good deal. I'm only 2 weeks out. I have an irrational fear of putting anything to hot in my sleeve lol. I'll probably try a sip of my hubbies and go from there. Thank y'all!
  9. Coffee drinkers, When was your first cup after surgery? What did you add to it? How did it sit with your sleeve?

    Drain!

Thank y'all! It's a not so distant memory now lol. Last pains left are around my belly button and nurse says its from the surgeon going through those muscles to work so they are healing. It gets a little better every day.

    Chewing Time

How far out are you? I feel like an idiot chewing refried beans but I try! I had to say it to myself in my head. Count and chew. Hopefully the habit will just catch on and I won't look like I'm concentrating to eat so hard lol
  12. My doc said don't stress the protein because I have protein reserves in my body it would use. I could get more protein as I felt better. Focus on your fluid intake! The last thing you want is to be dehydrated. I've been lucky that water agrees fine with my sleeve. I'm 10 days post and i just started attempting to have something besides water on day 6.

    Pain 10 days post op

I did a couple days ago when the new pain near my belly button started but they said it's because the instruments had to go through that tissue. I also think my surgeon requiring me to wear a drain tube the size of Texas in my stomach for 6 whole days after surgery has put me behind a bit. If by Monday I'm not able to do more I'll call again I guess.
  14. I've had a rough go but things had been looking up. The only pain I still have is a stabbing burning pain to the very right of my belly button. It's bad enough that I can't stand up straight and walk yet. I was walking and felt like two strings next to my belly button pop inside of me and the pain was terrible! I don't know what to do about it I hear of so many people up and back to work by now. I've been off pain meds since day 6 and won't go back. Anybody still in this much pain this far out?

So as of this morning I've lost 34 lbs post op for a total of 84 in all. I think I'll be more excited about that when I'm up and back to getting dressed for work. I took two weeks off and and thinking about squeezing a couple more days in. I'm almost scared to try to put work pants on. I tried a pair of workout pants thinking the tighter fit would help sooth my stomach, instead it caused pain lol so I took them right back off. Stretchy shorts for me ever since! I'm looking forward to the "soft meats" I get to start eating Monday. I've had mostly sugar free Popsicles, refried beans, and sweet potatoes the past few days. Any suggestions on what to make? What are y'all eating right now? How is being back at work? I travel often and they usually provide food so that worries me. Just checking in! I love having somewhere to go to talk about all of this.
