  1. I have had a hard last few months. I began to get sick around the 1st of March vomiting 5-6 a day and unable to really eat or drink anything. This went on for a month and a half straight. The vomiting stopped but since then I lost feeling in both my legs and feet. I spent over a week in hospital before they discovered I had a B1 deficiency. I've spent another week in a rehab hospital and then transitioned to in-home rehab. I now have feeling from my waist to the top of my knees. I developed bad nerve pain during this time and am now on Lyrica. Now my weight loss has seemed to stall and I'm very frustrated. I keep bouncing between the same 3 lbs. I go up then down. I'm not sure what to do. I don't know if my body is still recovering or if it's something I'm doing. I haven't been able to begin an exercise routine since I began getting sick right after I was cleared for exercise then I loss the feeling in my legs. Since I don't have full feeling back I'm not sure when I'll be able to work out. Help!!!

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I have not tried that protein but I will look into it.

Yes. Unfortunately I have never liked yogurt. I tried pudding but it doesn't agree with me.

    Anyone have RNY on 01-18-16

Hi, I actually had my surgery on 1/18/16. It has been a rough couple of weeks for me. I was fortunate that I didn't have the shoulder/gas pain you hear about. I've had no vomitting and very little nausea. The problem I am having is not being able to tolerate protein shakes/drinks at all. I've tried too many to count and spent hundreds of dollars. Because of my lack of protein and fluids, I have been very tired and weak. I have just started to incorporate some beans, applesauce and beef into my diet so I'm hoping that helps.
  5. Thanks Dar200. My journey has been much like you described. I think the benefits of the hospital wore off and I am now feeling the effects. I am slowly increasing my liquids. I'm not doing as well on my protein. I am settings small goals and hope I will start to feel better shortly.
  6. Thanks for your information. I'm still not feeling great but I feel better than I did yesterday. I do have 2 follow up questions. 1.) Does the milk in a protein shake count toward your daily liquids? 2.) How long did you guys stop taking your pain meds post-op?
  7. I just had surgery on Monday January 18, 2016 and today is my first full day at home. I am in pain and do not feel like eating anything. I'm really disappointed since I thought I was doing great in the hospital (My NUT ran into me while I was walking the halls and she said she thought I was a visitor since I was getting around so well). Now, I am finding that I am feeling more pain than I expected. I'm super concerned since drinking water is what's hurting the most. I'm scared I will quickly get dehydrated due to lack of fluids. I think it may be gas but taking Gas-X is not helping. Fortunately I am not dealing with the shoulder pain from the gas used during the surgery. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, what helped you?

I am also scheduled for Monday. I was starting to get worried that I was worried ????. I'm glad to see not everyone has a big bout of anxiety before their procedure. Good luck to all!!
