    What's everyone eating for thanksgiving?

Hmmmm...I think I'll be drinking protein since I get home from surgery the day before Thanksgiving. Sorry in advance to my family.
  5. I really like the strawberry sherbet with water and ice! I prefer the chocolate ones with skim fair life milk, and the vanilla is good either way (water or milk)

    Pre-Op Struggles!

I'm on day ten of my liquid diet, the first two were def the hardest. My doc says nothing about calories, but more about protein between 60-70 grams of protein per day, broth, SF jello, SF freeze pops, SF hot chocolate, healthy choice strained cream of mushroom and chicken soups. I've found that when I add no flavor proteins to the soups they are good, I've also found that vanilla and chocolate protein (from unjury) with fair life skim milk is a delicious smoothie, the strawberry banana muscle milks are good, I also can have light m fit yogurt with no chunks, I change those up. I enjoy the flavored water that you can buy at any store. My choices are limited yes, but I am down 14 lbs!! I actually feel healthy and stronger than ever ... Already!! Good luck!!!

    BMI 40-41 and pre-op diet

Citygirl. I am fortunate enough to live near the hospital where Dr. Michelle Toder who pioneered the robot for laparoscopic surgery is. She is my surgeon, based on her accreditation I plan to follow her instructions to a T for the safest outcome.

    BMI 40-41 and pre-op diet

My surgeon requires a two week protein liquid diet, her explanation was that it reduces the size of the stomach and liver making it easier for surgery. I am halfway (week 1) into my two week preop diet and from my experience I think that it helps your mindset, kind of like practicing before you have no choice. For me, the right thing to do is the high protein liquid diet. The first two days are the most difficult, but if you drink lots of water and eat the recommended protein amount you quickly learn that your not hungry, you just crave certain foods. I bought my protein from Unjury online and bought the sample pack (variety) and a pb2 ( which is peanut butter flavored protein) so good! Good luck!

    Anyone have November surgery date?

Thank you cancer91, I am 50, starting weigh 254, down to 233 this morning, I just finished week one of my pre op diet, (I had started higher protein less carbs before my pre op) a week to go my surgery is scheduled for the 23rd. The first few days on the liquid diet were difficult, now I'm not hungry forcing myself to drink the protein shakes (which I order through unjury) You can add a scoop of peanut butter flavor protein to SF chocolate milk when you need something sweet, or a ice and strawberry flavored protein for a smoothie; those are just a couple of my favorites. During the first few days struggles I'll share a few things that worked for me. I had made chocolate chip cookies for the grandchildren...the temptation got the best of me I had a very very small bite chewed real good and then spit it out I did that three times and that craving was satisfied, another time I licked a chicken nugget just two licks lol. Well that's me up to date . I'd love to hear more of your stories.

    Anyone have November surgery date?

Hi there, I am on day two of the all liquid high protein diet. My surgery date is Nov 23rd. I think I'm suffering from caffeine withdrawals as I can't have any caffeine two weeks pre or post surgery. Question; does frozen yogurt count as yogurt?
