  4. I've been taking mirilax every morning and milk of magnesia (the tablets) and am now going every other day; my belly is much happier!!
  5. I take mirilax every morning, it does nothing; I'll try prune juice and a stool softener at night, I've gotta do something my lower abdomen is so uncomfortable! Thank you for sharing!

  7. I'm sorry that you are going through this, I appreciate you sharing; Is the majority of your discomfort is in your lower abdomen? Because that's where mine is and with all of my bowel issues, two bms in 14 days, I'm starting to wonder about myself. My surgeon is saying take morilax Tylenol and heating pad, take it easy (hard for me to do) but man I would like to have a bm!! So how will they treat you?

  9. On day 6 post op I still had not had a bm; I took mirilax in the morning and I'm the evening I felt like I had a bowling ball stuck up my a**, it would come out! I took more mirilax that evening and slept with a lot of discomfort but in the am I pooped out my bowling ball lol!! Now I take a capful of mirilax every morning (I am ten days post op and haven't had any issues since. Good luck it sucks I know!
  10. I'm 10 days post op and have literally lost a pound a day since surgery! I had lost I had lost 23 lbs pre op.
  11. Renee2015 I follow the exact plan as you!! I'm having great success!!
  12. Mike_s Thank you for the reassurance!! Btw I had a healthy BM this morning, yet I'm still sore internally (lower abdomen) but not the sharp pains like yesterday. I will make 'every attempt' to listen to my husbands advice to take it easy; but def easier said than done!
  13. I stay at home; however yesterday 9 days post op; I was feeling great and (was tired of looking at some rooms that needed cleaning /makeover) I'm pretty sure I overdid it as I now have pain and a lot of discomfort in my lower abdomen. I also have only had one BM in 9 days so that could also be the culprit. Still trying to figure it out; but certainly hoping that I didn't cause any damage during my boredome driven cleaning spree yesterday.
  14. Yeah!!!! I am 30 lbs down with 22 before onederland, and I am only 9 days post-op. I am calculating from my highest weight before the 2wk liquid protein diet!
  15. I also would love the recipes!!
  16. I am a foster parent, in fact during my two week preop we went (drove almost 400 miles to adopt one. And this Thursday, 11 days post op we are adopting our second. These two have been foster kids in our home for over a year. I did however refuse to take any new kiddos during recovery and because of the holidays at this point I will wait until after Christmas. There is always such a great need for placements, God Bless you for what you are doing!! My suggestion is to not take any behavior ones until at least 4 wks post op. They can be a lot of work and very stressful and it's best if you focus on your healing (if you're like me you'll out the kids needs before your own) Good Luck!
  17. After reading these posts I don't think my pain is stricture. Their are two logical explanations for my pain maybe someone has experienced this and can offer insight. I am post op day 9 and have had only had one bm. I took mirilax twice yesterday as well as a gas X, still no bm, but some gas relief. Or.... I overdid it yesterday ; went to the dump, grocery shopping, thoroughly cleaned 3 large rooms in the house I had suffered sharp pains in my lower abdomen last night, I stopped, sat and applied heat it offered some relief. It's 3 in the morning and am having a hard time sleeping because of the low abdomen discomfort which now is not sharp pains but very very uncomfortable. Still trying to figure out if I've overdone it (and should be concerned) or if I should take a stronger stool softener. I sure wish I knew which was causing the discomfort. Any of your experiences would be appreciated, I will most likely call my surgeon tomorrow if I have no relief. Thank you all!!
