  1. Well done! Congratulations.
  2. You can't steal what's been freely given! I think it would be a very good exercise for me.
  3. One of my very favorite treats doing low carb tastes is a pretend danish. You take a low carb tortilla (mine have 6 carbs) spread a smear of whipped cream cheese down the middle, sprinkle with Splenda if you'd like, then a smear of sugar free preserves. Raspberry was always my first choice. Roll up and microwave for about 10 seconds and you've got a tasty treat.
  4. Maybe you meant antiemetics and not antibiotics. Antiemetics are for vomiting.
  5. I borrowed from my 403b plan so it was an automatic approval. And the interest rate is 6%. Good luck.
  6. I think I'm going to write a letter....to myself! One of those heart-wrenching dear me letters listing all my feelings about living in the body I have now, my hopes for the future, things I'm looking forward to, the fears I'm facing. And then I want to seal it in an envelope and not touch either until I've met goal or five years or whatever I decide. At that point, maybe I should write another letter celebrating the accomplishment and how great it feels. That one I wouldn't open unless I needed a serious pep talk or was having issues. So off I go....
  7. Would you believe I hate relish?!?
  8. I seriously am over the moon excited that I don't have to give up pickles. My mouth is watering now just thinking about them. Yummy!
  9. By mg it's less but it ends up being more if it's better absorbed, which can be the case. I went up four grams on it.
  10. When I used to need Iron for the same reasons I took SlowFE. It's over-the-counter and doesn't cause constipation or GI issues like regular iron can. Keeping fingers crossed for you!
  11. Phew! I'm very much relieved that I can still enjoy my pickles.
  12. It's really an amazing thing to accomplish. Great job.
  13. I'm "practicing" the whole not drinking with meals thing and it is the most difficult thing for me right now. Especially with hot foods. I'm sure it'll be second nature for all of us at some point but I sure hear ya!
  14. I love pickles. Love them! To me they are not a garnish but a side dish. I know that my tastes may change after surgery but where exactly do my beloved pickles come in? They are one of my favorite grabs when I want something crunchy or briney or puckery. I will also tuck a sandwich slice into a low carb tortilla with some turkey and vege cream cheese. Who is still loving pickles and when could you tolerate them? Thanks so much!!
  15. How exciting. That must feel so wonderful!
  16. Two weeks liquid diet also, stressing that the last three days are most important.
  17. Me too! I'm a mermaid at heart. Love, love, love the Water. I already asked about getting in the pool and was told two weeks if I healed well. At least its in the coldest part of winter that I'll be missing out.
  18. Thanks everybody. I've never even given a thought to food funerals. I was just going to have a good tasting at Thanksgiving and so far have avoided any kind of temptation. My boyfriend always gets irritated with me that I don't eat enough at a buffet to make it worth the cost and I've even avoided those so far. After the sleeve is when I'll have to worry about that. I'm fortunate to live where I have an indoor pool and like to exercise there the best. I'm usually getting 10000 steps a day on my FitBit. Once upon a time, many pounds ago, I used to love doing Taebo. Maybe I'll bring out those DVDs again.
  19. I'm researching as much as possible. I'm trying to chew my food into mush. I'm trying not to drink with meals, but boy is that hard for me! Hot foods especially. And of course I'm low carb, high Protein. Is there anything else I should be "practicing" now?
  20. I really enjoyed your post. Thank you.
  21. My first thought was an umbilical hernia but then I saw the picture and I'm undecided. Only your doctor can tell you for sure. Glad to hear you're having success.
  22. Relax, you get more radiation flying in a plane. It's not too late to do your incentive spirometry. Did you keep it? Try and use it every hour while your awake. If it's been misplaced, take very slow deep breaths to expand your lungs every hour instead.
  23. Not a bad perspective to have at all. Congratulations.
