  1. I was so depressed over my weight and my inability to lose it and keep it off no matter what I did. I just had had enough. Plus at 37 yo I had high blood pressure and triglycerides. I knew my situation would only get worse. I figured why wait for more meds and problems. Plus I'm ready to look good NOW! Regarding Mexico, I don't know looks like plenty of people on here have done it- I found a surgeon here in Florida who did it.

    32 vs. 36 sleeve

I'm a Bariatric surgery nurse and patient and a firmly believe a 32 is too tight. Many people end up with very bad reflux with this size.
  3. I had 50-60 pounds to lose and had surgery 10/9/15. I've lost 30 pounds so far.

FEMALES - DECREASED URINE FLOW - ANYONE?

This happens to me when I'm dehydrated. Also urine is strong smelling and very yellow. Drink more!!

Hungry like feeling since surgery- 6 weeks out.

I take 40 mg at night because I was having night GERD issues that have since resolved. I starting taking Zantac 150 mg in am and omeprazole at night. Doesn't seem to do it so far. I guess time will tell. This surgery is like a baby.. Goes through its phases!!
  6. I am hungry... I guess.. It's the only way I can describe it. The kind of burning, grumbling, somewhat nauseated feeling i got when i was super hungry before surgery. It goes away when I eat and for 30 minutes after. Drinking doesn't help it. I take omeprazole daily and have tried eating tums to ease the tummy- nothing! It is NOT cravings or head hunger. I'm getting worried that I will have a constant upset stomach for the rest of my life. Does anyone else feel this way or have tried anything that helps?

Having problems with eating and swallowing

Tea, broth, hot water with lemon. Anything that tastes good to you. Ginger tea is good for GERD. I had GERD also but it went away thank goodness. It is due to how tight your sleeve was made and how much swelling is there post op. I read a study that 60% of sleeves have GERD and it is almost always resolved by 2 years. yikes! One more thing that helped me with pain and nausea when I ate and especially drank was getting treated for thrush. Check your tongue.. If there is a white furry like coating on it, this could be the culprit and it's easy to treat. Happy to say I am eating and drinking fine now!!

Having problems with eating and swallowing

Drink something warm before you try to eat. It helps me. Also I have to remind myself constantly to slow down when I'm eating.

    Turmeric capsule

It's too big for me and I'm almost 6 weeks. Maybe in a few more... My feet are back to hurting since I stopped taking them. I tried opening the capsule and mixing it into my shake. Bad idea!

    Numbness in outer thigh

It's called lateral femoral cutaneous syndrome and has to do with nerve regeneration and does go away by 3 months usually. Not exactly sure why it happens...

    Reflux!

With untreated severe reflux, usually you give it time, and if it continues you may need a conversion to a gastric bypass to resolve the GERD. It is not uncommon. Good luck.. You must be miserable! See your surgeon.
  14. Try room temperature or warm fluids. And the quicker you can get off pain medications, the faster the gas pain will go away. I'm 3 weeks out and I still sometimes get a pain from drinking but it's much better.
