  3. I wish California had a less idiotic government. I'd love the climate, most of the people, but the nanny state drives me nuts. But it was great visiting again.

  6. NSV? Lost and caught: So there I was--surf fishing (my favorite thing among all things)--standing on the beach in my old, way too loose sweat pants and surf shoes when my lines went "zzzzziiiiiiinnnnnggggg!!!!!" (really big fish on the hook and taking my line). I yanked the rod, fish lurched deeper into the ocean--pulling me in. There I was knee deep--my now water soaked sweats (now way too big since weight loss) down around my knees. What happened? I caught a forty four inch striped bass and lost my pants. I never felt the least bit embarrassed. I was feeling way to joyful, not only for catching a nice fish, but for losing enough weight to lose my pants in the process! I guess it's a good thing I wore my new baby blue undies that day. smile emoticon I was the only woman surf fishing that day and all of the guys were good spirited about the whole experience and attempted to save my "dignity" Ha! I had just out fished all of them!!!!! Joy, joy,

  7. what does it mean when heart rate drops after workout?

    1. 2goldengirl

      2goldengirl

It's normal for it to drop after a good workout. I remember once or twice lazing on the couch after a long bikeride, still wearing my heart monitor. I beeped at me because it went so low. A lower HR is indicative of aerobic fitness.

  12. Did you know you can "UNDO" your sleeve?

    1. 2goldengirl

      2goldengirl

Maybe that person just had a zipper installed, rather than a real gastrectomy. "ectomy" means "removal of"

  16. Walking around work today without my boot. Going to see how my foot feels by the end of the day and if it still feels completely normal, I might try running a bit tonight.

      2goldengirl

Yay! Be carful to watch your gait during the day, the boot makes you walk funny. Be careful if you decide to run.!

  17. This weekend couldn't be going any better. I got up at o'dark'o'clock yesterday and threw a suitcase in my car and haled arse back to my hometown....some 5 hours or so away. I slipped into a table at Mom's favorite breakfast restaurant and was waiting on her as Dad walked her through the door and guided her to the table. She had no idea I was coming and I haven't seen her since January. She walked in and went to her table and saw a strange teared man sitting there smiling at her. She turned around and told Dad that someone was at their spot.....he said, "Well who is it ? Look at him". She turned and looked back and saw it was me and started yelling out once she recognized me. It was awesome. My Sister was hiding and filming the whole thing. Absolutely hilarious. Mom has had a heap of health problems these last two months and I am so glad to be her visiting with her. I cooked breakfast this morning and am about to get ready and go to church with them. We've had a great morning over coffee and their dogs have adopted me as their long lost brother. Life is good, folks. Yesterday was a great day, today proves to be even better. Life is good.

Knee surgery is an absolute bitch, pain-wise. About the only thing more painful is not having knee surgery when you need it. Hang in there!

  19. So tired of wearing this stupid boot! Foot is feeling perfectly fine now, but I promised myself I'd wear the boot for a full week. Worried it's doing more harm than good to other parts of my foot and ankle, but I'm going to tough it out and see how I feel without it next Monday.

when I broke my elbow, my ortho didn't put me in a cast, only a sling. He didn't believe in immobility.

I feel ya. One thing you can do is take the boot off when you're sitting down and flex your ankle and roll your ankle around. If you have a pool available, once the boot is off, you can work the muscles of your foot in the pool. Hang in there!
