    Ok, you're right.
The bougie is going to be bigger than a pencil, but smaller than a breadbox.

That looks like an ideal size.
Mine was almost as big as a "whosy-whatsy" but not quite as big as a "thing-a-ma-jig".

When answers are given, they are to often to benefit the community at large, not just the person who asked. If you take the time to look at the picture I posted, you'll see bougie sizes have minute differences and WHY it makes so little difference to many of us.
My bougie size (yes, I know it, you can search my responses if you a REALLY care) had little to do with my success. My success is based on my hard work and diligence in following my diet and exercise plan.

Most people don't know because they don't care. Almost no one ever talks about this except the people that go out of the country.
The size is irrelevant. What matters is the knowledge of the Dr. Everyone has a different size stomach to start with. When they get in there and look around they are supposed to choose how much to cut on a case by case basis for the best outcome.
And no matter what size they make it, it is going to stretch anyway.
Also long term a lot of restriction is not beneficial. If people are so restricted they can't get all their Protein in, they end up look like the crypt keeper. You need to be able to eat, and hopefully avoid GERD.
You are never going to know what size they really use, and restriction isn't what is going to make you lose weight, making good choices will.
Even with a ton of restriction you can sit and eat all day and drink Water to push it through.

Try simple brains tasks every day. In the mental health profession that's our suggestion. That's the best thing you can do for present and future brain health.
But definitely could be nutrient related or lack of calories. When I'm hungry I don't even know my own name sometimes. Like if my clients name is Sara I'll be like "hi I'm Sara" then they are like "cool so am I" then I'm like no wait it's Tracy lol. Then they lose confidence in me and want to leave lol.

@@Tssiemer1, that would be good if you get it done in next month. Being around for thanksgiving would suck in a way though. Hopefully everything goes good for you. It's crazy how many people they are getting in already. It kind of sucks in a way since appointments are being hard to come by. I guess I will see the 28th when I go in.

@@Elode nailed it. Think about how fun the costumes for next year's Halloween are going to be.
Make the best of it this year, but keep in mind where you will be this time next year. Let it cheer you up. You are going to be able to do any type of costume you can think off......or more importantly, you'll be able to do costumes that you haven't even allowed yourself to see wearing. It's going to be amazing.
Hang in there and know there's going to be all types of fun times ahead.

I looooove Halloween but I've been trying to find a costume since August for a friends wedding on Halloween. I've been stressing out. I've tried on I know 50 costumes and I can't find anything. It's sooooo frustrating. So I gave up and I'm going to wear my black "funeral" dress and a cape. It's not fair. I was like bawling my eyes out in the dressing room when the ONE 3x didn't fit right. It's hopeless.

(Warning TMI)Has anyone else experienced the Constipation? !? I was doing great! Very minimal pain, able to move and resume light activity. Until this afternoon, I went to the restroom and I am telling you it was 1 1/2 hours of earth shattering pain! Worst feeling ever!! It was so hard and so large that I could not pass it. An enema and a lot of screaming later it finally passed some.. I had hubby run to Walgreens and pick up Miralax to take. Gosh I hope the worst is behind me!!!
So if this hasn't happened yet.. I recommend taking miralax now!!!

Surgery is now behind me, yay! I am so surprised how tired I was. The end thesis took till about midnight to wear off enough for me to get up and walk. I would fall asleep within a minute of waking and I just could not seem to get myself together! The nausea after is the worst! A combo of not eating and the meds left me feeling like I would hurl any moment. But I never did! I just kept sleeping so that I wouldn't have to deal with it.
After about 4 I refused the pain meds because I really was not hurting and I think that contributed to my nausea.
About 11 ish I guess, I got up and walked around the floor. That was a piece of cake! It's now almost two am and I am awake.. Ready to get moving! Lol
There truly is no hunger or hunger pains after surgery which I am thankful of. Should be moved to Clear Liquids in the morning. So far so good guys!

Today is the last day before surgery for me. I will tell you that I almost drove myself crazy on nothing but liquids for two weeks. Failed two separate times and ate a small salad. I ratted myself out to the doctor because I was SO guilty. He was very sympathetic and told me not to beat myself up about it. If this was easy then we would not need the surgery! Very sound advice. I have gotten stronger at resisting as the day approaches but I still get cravings and even found myself licking the spoon that I was stirring spaghetti sauce with for the kids just yesterday.. Lol. I find it disturbing when I read on other posts that if you can't resist then you must not be ready for this step. Like an idiot I even started thinking that way and on that day that I confessed my salad chewing to the surgeon and told him the things I had read, he just laughed. Yes it is important to follow the diet and it is beneficial to shrink your liver but food addiction is a very hard thing to overcome and not beating yourself up about a small setback is the key. Hey, at least I didn't lick the donuts at work the other day.. ????
We need to remember that we are human.. Addicted.. And we just need to keep on truckin! Don't give in to defeat!

I would love to have something to chew! Doc has me on a liquid only diet. No sugar over 5 grams and 15+ grams of Protein each serving. I can have clear broth and sugar free jello/Popsicles. That is all. The Bariatric Advantage Multivitamins are also making me nauseous... I am not sure why my doc has such a strict pre-op diet but I lost 8 lbs the first week and lost 3 more so far this week. Guess that's a good thing! I just keep telling myself it is all worth it!! I know I can do this!!!

I know how you feel. I haven't dressed up on Halloween for years because I could never find anything that looked good on me. The last time I bought a costume, I was around 165ish and I was so convinced I looked cute. I had this super cute purple and black tutu, and lacey stockings, and this black corset top. I put so much effort into perfect outfit- the fat ballerina. Then the guy that I thought I was going to go out with on Halloween stood me up and went out with other people...dressed like a big stupid banana. That was around 5 years ago I think. I kept a picture of myself in that costume to remind myself that I would never, ever be stupid again and think that I could go out looking cute for Halloween. Babbs if you are reading this, I hear your voice in my head telling me that this was a silly thing to think!
Funny enough though, he and I are still friends and now that I am thin and fabulous, he would love to go out with me and yet I have zero interest in him.
You will get your turn...maybe not this year, but next year is coming. All of the misery of the surgery and losing the weight will be worth it when you slide your hot, sexy self into next year's costume.
I am going as a ballerina this year... a hot damn ballerina that never needed that big ugly banana anyway.
