Why is everything I'm tasting so sweet? Has my taste buds changed. They brought me Jello it's so sweet and now the chicken broth is sweet as well ugh and leaves a nasty taste in my mouth. Did anyone feel this way right after surgery?

Hi. I'm super late to the party it seems. I had my sleeve done on Oct 16. In the first 2 weeks, I lost 18 lbs and have been stuck ever since. (yes, following all rules, getting 60-80 grams of Protein a day, 48-64 ounces of Fluid, 800 cals on a bad day, tracking and writing everything to be sure) I am so frustrated. A 2+ week stall weeks 2-4 so far... Yes, I have read that this is common but it surely doesn't make it any easier. I have become obsessed with my weight and losing and stalling, etc... I started on the lower end of the sleeve BMI spectrum and am concerned that I will be in the 15% who this just doesn't work for and now I'm stuck with it along with a destroyed metabolism. Hoping some of you can commiserate and hoping I am very wrong. Thanks for listening.

I'm feeling much better. I was released yesterday evening from the hospital. They felt I was doing pretty good so they removed the picc line. Right now just trying to stay hydrated it's so hard for me to get all my fluids in. How do you guys do it?

@@edie091371 you guys are going to be the dynamic duo. That is so awesome that no only will you each have support but your partner will truly understand where you are coming from. Everything will be just fine. It makes total sense that you are more nervous for him than you were for yourself. I look forward to hearing about all the healthy things you will be doing in the future.

I carry a Vitamin Water and a regular bottle of water with me all the time but the vitamin water seems to go down easier than regular water. I think thats so weird but it's true for me. Sometimes I drink tea. I think it's almost like a tolerance, the more you make your body do it the more it listens. I try to remember to take a sip every 15min. I think it's really just a learning process and a lot of trial and error. Some days you aren't going to get all the fluids in that you need and some days you will. Best of luck! @chelleb33 I have flavored water and I try to carry it with me every where. It feels like I'm constantly drinking. I have Water next to my bed and drink in the middle of the night when I get up to the bathroom. Most times it's hard to get in the fluids, but I try. It's also hard for me to get in the Protein as well. I drink a cinnamon roll Protein Shake which gives me 30 grams of protein first thing in the morning. Rest of the day is a struggle to get in the rest. I try to eat foods high in protein, but that isn't always the case. I hope you start to feeling better.

If you have any questions just ask. I will do my best to help and if I don't have the answers I know one of these amazing guys or girls will!!

@@395Ron I cannot even begin to imagine how tired you are. But you also need to realize how strong we all think you are. A person of less fortitude who have given up long ago and yet here you are getting better each day. That makes you a role model. Don't look behind, only ahead and ahead is only better things. I am so happy for that you are home again and on the healing road.a year from now you are going to look back on this and know that it was all worth it. I personally am so glad that you are back,as I stated before our little group is just not the same without you. So keep getting stronger because we expect to keep hearing from you on a regular basis!!!
On a whole new topic, my hubby Kevin goes in for his surgery Thursday and I wish you could see what a baby thus big, strong man has been about this liquid pre op diet!!!! I am almost positive I saw him looking at our weenie dog, Gidgett, and drooling. I'm just glad there was no mustard in the house!! Lol.

    Home once again.
I really am tired of all this stuff. My emotional piggy bank is drained and I hope to get a chance to refill it reading your guys posts.
I had a blood clot in my right lung. I was in so much pain it took 6 shots of their strongest medication to get it under control.
I have to say this has not been a fun journey so far.
I am walking on a walker where just a month ago I was walking 6 miles. It is a struggle to get up the 7 steps in our house. I have to sit in a chair when using the shower because I am unsteady on my feet and can't stand that long.
It is time to begin recovery but I am so scared of the next foot dropping. I am going to end this post because it feels more like a pitty party. I need time to recharge my batteries.
My wife has been my rock. She has had to go through so much during this time.
Thank you all for being here and keeping me in your hearts.

Wow, Ron… I finally get back here, anxious to welcome you back, only to hear that you are back at the hospital once again for a possible blood clot. This is just so heartbreaking, We thought you might be finally be back on track and moving forward…. so hate that a new complication has arisen, it is just not fair. You just cannot catch a break, my friend. I truly hope this is the last of the complications and you can be on your way, continuing the journey of which you were so excited to begin. Please keep us posted and know that we are all here for you.
