ThisWasForMe got a reaction from Ruby Woo in 2 days to go.
Congrats! I just had surgery 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I'm doing great! The hospital stay was no big deal. I have had no nausea and sipped the broth, ate the Jello and sipped the Water slowly. I was fine. No pain either. I hope for the same for you all. Good luck and do what the nurses tell you. Getting up and walking often throughout the day really made me feel better too. I even stood up to watch tv for short periods at a time. Felt better than laying in bed.

I've had a really easy time too. I had no pain meds and my stomach just felt normal. My stomach muscles were sore for about 4 days afterward, but that's it. I have been able to drink 48 ounces of Water per day, 3 Protein Shakes a day and my Soups and yogurts. They just advanced me to stage 3. Doing well!

I had surgery on 8/31/15. I'm doing great. I've lost 25 lbs as of 9/27/15. I started at 314 back in May and lost 23 lbs before surgery. So, I'm down 48 lbs since May. I tolerate all foods really well. I just got advanced to stage 3 on 9/25/15. So far, I have been fine with whatever I eat. I chew food well (even though it's soft) and eat slowly.
The only thing that bothered me was caffeine. They told me not to have caffeine, but I didn't know the 4C brand of iced tea mixes had it in there. It gave me heartburn really bad. I switched back to plan Water and I've been fine since. I now make sure everything I drink is Decaf. I do take Pepcid twice a day as prescribed.

CowgirlJane has it exactly right. Cut out some carbs and change up your exercise routine. That's what my personal trainer said and it works.

Great. Sounds like I got lucky. The horror stories had me really on my toes about everything and when I didn't get not one issue I starting really wondering.
Thanks for the input. I guess I should shut up and be thankful..lol

Not everyone has a difficult time. My surgery was easy a well. No real pain, just soreness. It felt like I did 100 situps the day before and my abs were sore, but that's it. No issues with gas, nausea, vomiting etc...., walked in recovery, tolerated everything I've tried to drink or eat. No need for pains meds. It's just the painful people are more vocal.

I had a relatively easy recovery, too.
It was a challenge getting in my Protein and fluids, especially early out, but I just keep sipping.
Everyone has different thresholds for pain, different surgeon's, and different reactions and recoveries.

I'm not sure if this post is serious, joking or trolling.
A lot of people aren't miserable and tolerate food very well. I was able to see my sleeve and intestines live on screen during my swallow test, I know it happened. I wasn't miserable like a lot of people.
As more and more younger people have surgery we are going to see more people with less post op issues, and as doctors get better at surgery.

I stalled at exactly the same timeframe, around 8-9 months post op.
I had to address 3 issues:
too many carbs, largely in the form of things like Protein bars but also other little Snacks and treats had snuck into my diet exercise routine needed changing - I went from long duration on eliptical etc to high intensity interval training and it kick started the calorie burning wrapping my head around recommitting to following the rules; recommitting to what was important, losing the weight or eating the foods that were slowing my progress. I had to face if i actually WANTED to be trim vs where I was stalling (I had lost around `110-120# when I stalled the question was my committment to get to a normal BMI) Once I did all 3, my loses resumed and I lost a total of 150# in 14 months.
