  1. Aloha Siri and Miriam, Everything you wrote rings true for me about feeling full and thinking full and how it was before with 'stuffing to feel full and comfortable'. It really helps me to read what you wrote and I also like the 'pep talk'. I'm not having trouble with anything as far as constriction. I do always have some gravy or soupiness with my solid proteins, since I cook them in the slow cooker, so it's not 'fat based' gray, just water and natural juices from veggies and the protein. So, I am going to have another fill on Jan. 18. I think this one will get me where I want to be with restriction. I sure hope so, anyway. I didn't mean to miss the support group for January. I am dissapointed. Did any one else go. If so, what was the topic? I will see if I can get there in Feb. but I will be on the mainland at the time of March's meeting. I still don't have a ticker :/
  2. Hi Natasha, I am curious about why you were feeling full BEFORE you got banded? What was giving you a full feeling before?
  3. Will someone assist me with this fun little challenge? I found the Ticker web site - but where do I paste the code? I don't get it :/ Still Hungry :hungry:
  4. Hi Siri, It sounds like you are getting full with a lot less food than I am. I don't get that full feeling yet.
  5. Hi All, I have been reading your comments about how much you can eat and about feeling full. It is all still confusing to me. I was banded Nov 14, 2007. Everything was fine for almost a week, but then I stared getting really hungry. Mary had me start soft foods, stage 3 and beyond, basicly whatever I could handle and that turned out to be just about anything. I really had no restriction. I got my first fill as soon as I could - the 6 week point. And then another one the next week. Each fill was 3cc. I have a 10cc band. I went for another fill on Thursday Jan. 3, but they were out of needles. I am going back Jan. 17. I still don't feel full, but I have been sticking to about a cup of food at meals. I try to stay filled up with tea during the times I can drink between meals. I lost some weight right after my banding, but began to gain before I got my second fill. I am trying to loose weight again now by just restricting myself. It hasn't been what I expected yet, but I am sticking with it till I get it working for me. I sure would like to have that FULL feeling I expected to have. I am really hoping to get to that place with the fills. I am happy to read what your experiences have been and how you are feeling and dealing with it all. I am still figuring out how to post and get a ticker and get my posts to have the info about band date etc. :hungry:
  6. Hmmm. I don't understand why my photo pooped up there????
  7. Hi Tashie, WOW you are doing great! Do you have the lapband? Do you feel ful on a cup or less of food? I live in Hawaii Kai.
  8. Hauoli Makahiki Hou, For this year I hope to reach my goal of 125 lbs. I hope to become balanced in my attention to my own needs. I hope to make a few good friends. I hope to become healthier each day. I hope to relate to food as nutrition and find my fun in other ways. I am grateful for each day that allows me keep moving toward what I want to create now.
  9. How do I get a 'ticker'? They are so inspiring.
  10. Hi make 33,Thanks for your reply. I was keeping a food record, logging all my calories, fats, carbs and all my exercise.I just lost my place when everything changed so fast and I got discouraged. I am swimming 30 minutes 3 or 4 times a week. I know I should do more. I am eating a cup or more at each meal.It is challenging for me to drink an hour after eating or 30 minutes before meals. With two sncks inbetween meals it there is such a short window for drinking. How do you manage it?Thanks for your comments. It helps.
  11. HI, So nice to get your reply. Dr. fowler said my band hold 10 cc of fluid. Does that mean it is a "10". I didn't even know there were sizes. I have had so little restirction until I got my second fill. At 6cc I feel some restirction to eating nuts and meat. A half cup of food would leave me feeling very hungry. I eat a cup or a more at each meal. How could I discover if I have the right size band?
  12. New and don't know how to proceed with posts Aloha! I was banded on Nov. 14 at Castle, by Dr. Fowler. I have done well in all ways, except I am not getting restriction from my band yet and I have gotten discouraged. I have had two fills. I am up to 6cc. Things just didn't move as I had read about. I went through the first 4 stages after surgery within a few days. My healing was very rapid. No complaints there! I just get worried about not losing more weight. I stopped losing about 2 weeks after surgery and I have even added back some pounds. Has anyone else experienced this?
