  1. I am 10 months post op with almost 200lbs lost. In terms of volume it varies with what kind of food it is. Beef fills me up with less volume maybe 4 or 5 bites. Something like salmon or sashimi i can eat more of. I could eat a little more than half of a standard dinner order of sashimi
  2. For me there is awkwardness about the skin But mainly it's thinking about how big I was before, how did I let myself get to that point, and seeing how mich damage it did to my body. It's a horrible feeling knowing that you have lost almost 200lbs and are still obese.
  3. Oh my god I am so happy to see this thread. I have had this for a while and I didn't realize it was something other people got. I have it quite bad under my arms. I apologize if this is graphic but how do you guys deal with it? I have to put pads on my shirts and I'm always self conscious that there is a smell. I have been to a dermatologists i have been on some antibiotics and has not resolved. I am currently trying some treatment I read about where they suggested using common acne treatments. I am 10 months post op and it has not improved.
  4. I don't miss anything and don't feel deprived of anything. I eat everything that I want. The only difference is that I want different things now. I still eat things that are considered unhealthy like chips and cookies but a lot less than I used to
  5. Well...i honestly never ever thought about eating in old age. If I didn't have surgery I wouldn't even live to old age so it was a moo point. (bonus for those who get the Friends reference)
  6. I haven't ditched anyone on purpose but lost all my friends in my current divorce process
  7. I liked broccoli cauliflower soup. I boiled some broccoli and cauliflower in chicken broth, then when they are tender I pureed it and added a few wedges of laughing cow cheese
  8. Mine is at the very least 60 but I try to get more
  9. If it wasn't for snacking I would never come close to my protein goals
  10. I have a very hard time eating without drinking so I usually have a few sips. I have still had tremendous weight loss but this worked for me it might not work for others
  11. Talk to your nutritionist
  12. Why are you asking? The amount you will eat depends on what kind of food it is, at least for me. But i dont thin ive been able to eat a cup of anything and I'm almost a year post op
  13. If I'm with proplr who don't know I had surgery, I fill up my plate and pick at it. Then I'll go up a second time and do the same. I've done this a few times and it's not been a problem. Nobody has noticed or said anything and I enjoyed the foods that I liked
  14. What do you mean "just have surgery"? Like it's some easy quick thing
  15. Weight loss pre op will depend on your insurance. They all have their own requirements.
  16. I am going to be 1 year out in September. Almost 200lbs
  17. Maybe you just had too much
  18. It depends on your plan. Talk to your nutritionist. It seems like most people prefer to have several small meals
  19. Try adding some flavor to your water, that always helps me. I like adding frozen strawberries
  20. I think it's great that she has such amazing self esteem. That is such a difficult thing. But I think I would habve more respect for her if she was trying harder to be healthy and eating bettter. I know that is very hard. But i know some people including her say that you can be healthy and overweight but I don't believe in that. You may not have high blood pressure or diabetes but being significantly overweight is still a tremendous strain on your body....as I'm sure we all know. Yes she is a lot more physically active than I am but i wish she talked more about trying to become more healthy than just saying it's ok to be fat
  21. I am slowly entering the dating world. My plan is that if after a few dates I see the possibility of something long term then i will tell them. I feel this is something they will need to know if we are to be in a long term relationship. I anticipate some questions but since a lot of things revolve around food i woukd defiantly want them to know. Ideally I woukd love to meet someone who was also sleeved.

I started a new job and I am really enjoying it. Great commute, nice people, fairly low stress work. But.....there is always junk food!!!! There is a table close to my cubicle that is the community table where people put food. In the three weeks I've been here there has been pizza three times, a giant chocolate cake, a box full of mini bags of chips, donuts, Cookies, bagels, cup cakes and bags of microwave popcorn. It has been so hard not to chow down on all these slider foods but I've only had one mini bag of veggie straws. Everyone is like come on have some. Other than that I am really liking the new job (just wish it paid a little more)
  23. Try adding cheese to the beans for one. If you are mixing protein shakes try using whole milk
  24. Wow goal weight at only 11 weeks The idea of trying not to loose weight sounds crazy after 30 years of being overweight and perpetually dieting. Seems simple...eat more calories
