Oatmeal?
I would double check with your Dr. It is a soft food for sure, but may not be considered a puree. I've recently been eating a lot of high protein overnight oats that are really tasty. I can share the recipe if you like

I'm Cold?!
Yes, happened to me. I used to be the one in the office sweating and wishing they would turn up the AC. Now I'm always freezing. I have a sweater that I wear all year at work and have even brought in a personal heater

Creative help
Hi guys, I need some help with something creative. I am trying to start an Etsy shop for some of my crochet items. They tend towards the geeky/nerdy side. I have some cat toys inspired by, harry potter, star wars, pokemon, and i plan to list hats scarves and gloves as it gets colder. I need help coming up with a shop name. Something fun and nerdy Any ideas?

One week post op gastric sleeve
This soo after your surgery you won't be able to eat much. If it was me I would put a few items on my plate and move them around a lot so it looked like I was eating. See if there will be some soft things you can eat. Maybe a hamburger patty if you chew it very well.

Gained weight at hospital for surgery...?
Yes, it's fluids. They pump a lot into you. Stick to your plan and you will do well. Good luck.

What should my goal be?
If you're going to set a number goal just make sure it's something realistic. If you set something too low and then don't reach it you will feel bad. I started at 420lbs and a size 30. I thought I would love to get down to 150lbs. Two years later I am 195lbs and a size 12....if I had stuck hard to my goal I would be so mad at myself for not meeting it after two years.

Cruise "Mocktails"
I have to agree with this. I have days on occasion where I look back and think, wow I ate way too much today. But if I really count it out it's still under 2000 calories. Where as before on a day that I ate "A LOT" it would be more like 5000 calories.

What should my goal be?
I wouldn't worry too much about a specific goal. Just stick to your plan and loose what you can.

Cruise "Mocktails"
I don't think you would do any lasting damage. Yes they have a ton of sugar and calories, but I think if you have a few while on vacation it won't be the end of the world. It is a vacation after all and not your normal eating habbits. You probably won't even be able to finish a whole drink. You will NOT be able to stretch out your stomach. When done correctly, the sleeve cannot be stretched. If you eat too much you'll just vomit. If it's not a common occurence you won't do any damage to yourself. I am 2 years post op and still once in a while forget myself and overindulge...which results in having to run to the nearest bathroom. Enjoy your vacation!!!

Is this really true???
I think it's true, I believe it is due to the high protein diet

Hidradenitis Suppurativa treatment
Hi everyone. I know there are a few posts about this and some people who have this condition. I have it under my arms pretty bad and i had it under my breasts as well but that seems to have cleared up. Under my arms is pretty bad, i have very bad scarring. I'm experiencing a flare up right now in my right side and can barely move my arm at all it is so painful. Anyone who has this condition knows this feeling...not just the pain but the embarrassment, the ruined clothing, bed sheets, the lack of information. In my googling today i actually found something that deems like it might be a bit of a ray of hope. I came across an ad for medication and they have a page specifically devoted to this condition including before and after pictures. As soon as my insurance kicks in in August i am making the first appointment i can to try it. Here is the link if anyone else is interested https://hs.humira.com/

restaurants?
I go out to eat often enough with people who don't know I was sleeved. I order a regular meal and eat my small bit of it and pack up the rest. Nobody has ever commented on how little I ate. Sometimes I'll order an apetizer as a meal. A favorite place to go to is to a sushi restaurant then I just get a couple pieces of shashimi a lacarte. It's cheaper too.

NO Carbonated beverages- FOREVER!
I was only told to avoid carbonation for 2 or 3 months. I am currently almost 2 years out and drink carbonated beverages whenever I want (which is not often). I can't have more than a few sips of something carbonated because the bubbles make me feel very full. On occasion i do have a few sips of regular sugary soda as a treat and I've still lost weight

Ketogenic diet post sleeve?
Hi guys. I'm almost 2 years post sleeve. I've been hearing a lot about ketogenic diets and know people who have had great weight loss success. I've been thinking about trying it as I have about 20 lbs more that I would like to loose. However it seems like it's a low protein diet and protein protein protein has been drilled into me so hard I'm not sure if this is a good diet for post op folks. Is anyone on this diet, any advise?

Protein Overnight Oats
I stumbled upon this recipe for a protein packed overnight oats recipe that I've been eating almost every day and I'm loving it, maybe someone else will like it. Before bed I mix a container of greek yogurt (12g protein) and a scoop of protein powder (the brand I use is 20g per scoop). Once it is smooth I mix in 1/4 cup of milk (4g protein) and a packet of high protein instant oatmeal (10g protein). I put a handful of frozen berries on top and put it in the fridge until morning. When I'm ready to eat I mix it all up and it's very good. The total protein ends up being 46g. It's more than I can eat in one sitting but I usually eat it for breakfast and lunch and if any is left as a snack later. My favorite flavor combo so far has been raspberry yogurt with a scoop of chocolate powder and frozen raspberries.

Insurance Appeal
Yeah I'm surprised he didn't have one done, I had to for my pre op requirements. My mother is on the phone with the insurance company at this very moment, if she is unsuccessful then he'll try to get the test done.

Plastics done :)
you look great!!! I'm just starting to research plastics myself. What was the predicted recovery time? I'm concerned about needing to take a long time off from work.

Insurance Appeal
