It sucks they are making things harder for you. But the way I looked at it....yes if my husband made healthy choices with me that would be great. But this was something *I* was doing, it was *my* choice so I wasn't expecting him to make changes

Feelings on the new aspire bariatrics device?
Sophie74656 replied to Wendydarling19's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
#5 I think this is a bad idea. This does not promote healthy eating or a lifestyle change. I think this will promote worse eating habits. People will think they can eat whatever they want and just pump it out -

What’s the ONE thing you wished you knew before getting sleeved ?
Sophie74656 replied to Scottyd1264's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes I wish I knew that it wasn't going to be incredibly difficult. Once I made the mental commitment the rest was a piece of cake. I should have done this years ago -
What’s the ONE thing you wished you knew before getting sleeved ?
Sophie74656 replied to Scottyd1264's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
How absolutely easy this was going to be......I wished I'd done this years ago. Seriously. I have zero complaints about anything related to the sleeve surgery.......liquid diet and all. Everything has been straightforward and within my ability to handle. -

If you cheat then you stop and get back on track. But you need to think about why you are cheating. Also the closer you get to Your surgery date the more imortant it is to stick to your diet. Post op you will have to completely stick to the liquid diet or you could damage your sleeve

It takes time. Your body is healing and that itself takes a lot of energy. Once you heal more and get some more calories you will feel better -
Do you think I can be qualified for weight loss surgery!
Sophie74656 replied to chic0660's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It depends on your insurance But in my opinion, and people are going to disagree, but I would not havr surgery at 200lbs...200lbs is my GOAL weight -
I can find something just about anywhere. Most places will have a salad but sometimes I just get an appetizer. My favorite places are sushi places. I get sashimi alacarte.

Haven't had the single incision one but there was really very little pain with the regular way. If it was me I would ask the surgeon ehich method they would rather do regardless of the cost

Stomach Stretching
Sophie74656 replied to Fettchick83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I notice I don't have the hungry feeling anymore. Kinda odd.Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App You shouldn't feel the physical hunger. Head hunger isna different story. My surgeon explained to me that the part of the stomach that is removed contains the part that sends the hunger hormone. After 10 months I have never physically felt hungry -
That looks so tasty

Overwhelmed after pre-surgery appointment
Sophie74656 replied to Heidi.E's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just take it one step at a time. Write out a list of what you need to do and what to buy and cross them off as you do it. You will see it's not that overwhelming. Don't worry about getting the wrong things. As time goes by you will figure out what you like and what works for you. You can do it -
What do you look forward to most...when you're thin?
Sophie74656 replied to fancypants67's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just look forward to the day i can look in the mirror and not hate what i see. I just want to be happy with me And crossing my legs -
For a few months post op most likely not. After that maybe. But to be frank with you, it seems like this is a bad state of mind if you are having weight loss surgery. You should not be thinking about eating the same size portion as before

I would love a site for singles who have had bariatric surgery. I think it would make some things easier. I know there are two sites but I checked then out and there are very few people on them.

Stomach Stretching
Sophie74656 replied to Fettchick83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If your surgery was done correctly then the part of your stomach that stretches is removed so it can't stretch. Some people might think theirs has stretched because they discover that they eat more than they used to. This is usually because it takes a while for the internal swelling to go down. For a few months post op you are swollen inside so you have extra restriction. Then it goes doen and you can eat a little more. But it didn't stretch, that's just the size it should be
