  1. Hello, I am currently 8 weeks pregnant and trying to keep up with my Protein intake. I had my sleeve in 2017. I normally have a Protein Shake in the morning (pre pregnancy) but I've read that they may not be safe. Has anyone continued to use protein powders while pregnant? What brand did you use?

pre pregnancy I discovered this brand and I loved it

  2. Omg...almost 3 years post sleeve and loosing almost 200 lbs i have scheduled and made a deposit on my plastic surgery. I am getting my arms and thighs done.

To be honest i thought i would be more excited about it. My wonderful supportive family and boyfriend have been urging me to do this and my parents are assisting with the cost. I know that i will look and feel better and once it's done i will be happy i did it.

We're doing Royal Caribbean, which I consider something in the middle - Not Carnival, but not quite elegant luxury either (I do have two older kids in tow after all haha). I'm actually pretty disciplined with eating in general (buffets will be great for getting small meals throughout the day I hope), but I want to allow myself my pina coladas at night.

In my opinion I think you can have your pina colada and enjoy it. You probably won't be able to finish it but ENJOY IT!!!

Drinking hard liquor on the rocks is better than drinking mixers and basically straight sugar.

I have always thought cruises were the devil and the induced gluttony that people post about them on here has lowered my opinion of them even more. A floating all you can eat buffet...

If it's once in a while...nothing wrong with an all you can eat buffet

is it true you can't stretch it? i've been wondering why i can eat more now that a couple months ago. i'm only 4 months post op, but i'm usually eating around 1400 calories a day. also working out and lifting some heavy weights to stay fit.

Yes, it is true. If done properly the part of your stomach that stretches is removed. You can eat more now because your internal swelling has gone down. It can take a while for all the swelling to finally go away.

  6. Well on one hand you should listen to your doctor, but on the other hand you're loosing weight. Personally I think if you're loosing weight then you're not taking in too much

For me in two years since my sleeve I've never tracked my calories, even today I don't know how many calories I'm taking in

  7. That's pretty standard. The way my surgeon explained it to me...this is a completely voluntary surgery so they will run every test they can to make sure you will get through the surgery.

doctors, especially surgeons have to watch their statistics. It is bad for them if someone has complications or heaven forbid dies from surgery. So they will do whatever they can to ensure that you will have no complications

This is one of the things that I'm concerned about, should I be blessed enough to lose the amount of weight you have (I also started off at 4 bills). Not so much regarding wearing a bathing suit, but should I ever convince someone else to be intimate with me again (it will surely be done with the lights off...)

I had to remind myself that I didn't have this surgery to be "hot", I did it to live. My medical situation was to the extent when I chose the surgery that I wasn't sure I'd be alive much longer. I knew that I likely could never afford plastic surgery nor do I desire it. I realized that hanging skin was a likely consequence, but decided that my health was more important.

I know you're probably rolling your eyes hearing this, but remember we are all beautiful as God made us, and our bodies are only our outer shell. That's a message I hope to reinforce in myself through this journey. My brain believes it, and hopefully my heart will very soon.

    Good luck!

Yep I've been with my boyfriend for almost a year...the first time the clothes came off i was convinced it was going to be the last, that he would see everything hanging and run screaming. A year later he's still here, but honestly no matter how much he says he loves me and he's not bothered by the loose skin it's still something I'm self conscious about and try to not show much

Can I ask what your starting weight is? Do you work out? Also- the two piece bathing suits with high waist skirt shorts are AMAZING

My starting weight was over 400. I do work out some, mostly walking. I've been looking into a one piece with just some shorts over them

  10. I can't get all my calories and Protein just from three meals. So I've figured out that for me the best way is to have a set schedule of Snacks. I have my breakfast at home, and before I leave I make a large Protein Shake that I take to work with me. I'll sip on that throughout the day. At 11;00 I'll have my first snack, at 1:30 I take my lunch, at around 3:30 I have another snack, at 6:30 I have dinner, then I may have one more snack if I need to get in some more protein.

  11. Just feeling sorry for myself right now...

I've been looking for bathing suits. I haven't had one in many years and I figured, hey I've lost 200lbs I should get a bathing suit. Much crying later I've decided that I will not own a bathing suit this summer, just a tshirt and shorts if I feel like going in my parents' pool.

Yes I've lost a lot of weight and I'm much healthier, but oh my gosh my body is a mess, everything is loose and hanging and lumpy and just awful.

I don't think you read the update. Scroll back up a few posts. The daughter is doing very well, and the mother is being very supportive.

Yes, I hadn't seen the update. But the first post still makes me feel sad. I'm glad everything is going well

  13. well everyone is different. My initial thought is that your friend might not be eating properly which is leading to him being sick.

Of course the sleeve, or any weight loss surgery will require a lifestyle change. You will have to eat healthy and follow a diet that your surgeon and nutritionist will give you. Surgery is a commitment to change your life to be healthier.
