Will it get Better?
Sophie74656 replied to bellabeans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
there is no guarantee of anything but just think about it...your body will be carrying less weight, there will be less stress on your bones and joints, you will be able to exercise more which will probably help. Loosing weight will probably help a lot -
Very few people know about my surgery. This was a hard enough thing to do without the possibility of unsupportive people and negative comments

Help find good restaurants that are not fast food
Sophie74656 replied to godrules61's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I go to fast food and restaurants when i want. I get chicken nuggets nuggets at fast food places or a small hamburger without the top bun. At restaurants I get an appetizer or some chicken and I just eat a little and bring the rest home. I have been out with people who don't know I had surgery and nobody has evee mentiones anything about what or how little I was eating -
I don't like any. What I found tbat tastes pretty good is actually the high protein carnation breakfast shake. That has 15g of protein. I mix that with a scoop of chocolate premiere protein and some frozen banana and it's good
-
Well try the isopure. I thought they were HORRIBLE but some people like them
-
Without the shakes it's pretty impossible to get y Protein when you are on a liquid diet

Sophie74656 replied to SammyVP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know what butter chicken is but after you are healed you can technically eat ANYTHING. Some things are just worse choices than others -
Is this normal?
Sophie74656 replied to becomingmandikaye's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes. Think about it, most of your stomach was just removed and after that kind of trauma everything is incredibly swollen inside. For a while you will feel extra restriction. 6 or 7 months post op for most people the last of the swelling is gone and that is the true size of your sleeve. Many people find that at that point they can suddenly eat more and worry that they stretched their sleeve (which is not actually possible) -
What happens when you eat too much?
Sophie74656 replied to PaulStephens1975's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me if I eat to much I feel like i have to throw up....then I throw up. But this hasn't happened in a while -

Is my BMI too low for the sleeve?
Sophie74656 replied to maybesomeday's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't do any permanent life altering surgery at that bmi. -
So many questions
Sophie74656 replied to Heatgirl03's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Every timeline is different. Some require 6 months of supervised diets, some have othee requirements. It all depends on your insurance and surgeon. For me my consult was in June and my sleeve was in September -
Ready to start mushy food this week
Sophie74656 replied to goosefam's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Start with measuring out 2 oz and see how you feel after. Even if you think you could eat more it would be a bad idea. You are still healing, you don't want to push it -
Fast weight loss?
Sophie74656 replied to This-is-my-journey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was loosing a pound a day after surgery. After 33 years of nothing but gaining weight, loosing too fast or too much was never anything I ever thoight about -
Woke up just now (midnight) and have to go to the bathroom. I stop outside the bathroom door and I hear a strange sound. The bathroom window is open and it faces our backyard which backs into woods. I hear what sounds like demons screaming. It sounded so scary i was actually afraid to go in the bathroom because my sleepy brain thought the demons would see me and come after me, so I just went back to my room. After some googling I'm pretty sure what I heard was a fox vixen call. After finding this out I was able to go to the bathroom and back to bed Yes.....yes I'm like 90 % sure it was a fox I heard....but just to be safe I have barricaded my door with the new tub of cat litter, double checked that the closet was empty and completely closed and also barricaded, and took a running leap into bed. Yeah I'm 33 years old and sleeping with a nightlight tonight Sent from my LGLS991 using the BariatricPal App

You need to talk to your surgeon about what to expect, what they will do

I went protein crazy!
Sophie74656 replied to gettingsleeved1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't go too crazy. Many people find their taste changes post op -
I'm wondering if my sleeve is small enough?
Sophie74656 replied to Km77942009's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes every plan is very different. And honestly when ai was in my soft food stage I had some pizza...but only the cheese. Having said that, would bet a large amount of money that no plan ever has said that pizza is ok less than two weeks aftef surgery -
NJ has more than just 2 major highways. Have you ever been here? Beyond just driving on the crappy turnpike?
