    FDA finally approves AspireAssist

I'm happy for anyone who has had success with this but the more I learn about it the more ot sounds like a bad idea. Yes some people who are willing to make a lifestyle change will succeed, but I still think people will abuse this. I think they will see this as an excuse to binge like crazy then just purge their stomach contents

    Post-op diet at work

If you're going onto soft foods you could bring some cottage cheese or some greek yogurt

    Post-op diet at work

Im assuming you are still on liquids. Bring a protein shake for lunch. When I was on soft foods I had mushed up tuna with egg.

    Sleeping positions

Laying flat put pressure on my main incision and it hurt. Sleeping in the recliner wasn't the most comfortable thing but it didn't cause me pain.
  8. Do you have insurance? If so call them amd ask for a nutritionist

    Sleeping positions

For a little while I slept at a 45 degree angle. My recliner came in very handy

Nobody here has been angry. Disagreeing with something or having a negative opinion about something does not mean it's an "angry" comment. People have simply expressed their opinions and concerns about a new device. I have had weight loss surgery myself and have had great success with it. But my opinion on this new device is a negative one. That may change later on as more statistics come out about it but for now my impression of this new device is that it is a very bad idea

How Do You Stay Cool Without Ice Cream?

I still have ice cream if I want. But mostly I have lots of popsicles.
  15. Some ricotta cheese mixed with a bot of tomato sauce, mozzarella, and a bit of garlic powder. After a few weeks I would add some diced bell pepper and peoperoni

I have got about a billion questions

I am of the opinion that nothing is off limits. If I want some ice cream I have some ice cream, if I want Pasta I have pasta. The key is moderation and portion control. I feel that thinking that something is forbiddden makes you want it more and makes it harder to stick to a healthy diet. Having said that follow your nutritionist's plan and you will figure out what works for you

2 weeks post of minimal loss

you can't expect a huge physical change in two weeks. Give it time and stick to your program
  18. are you in pain from it? If not it's probably due to the internal swelling. Stick with your small sips and if you keep having a concern or if it gets worse or painful then consult with your surgeon

    Sleeve vs Bypass

there are probably 5 million threads about this, many different opinions. I chose the sleeve because I didn't want the unused part of my stomach just hanging around in my body with no way to access it if there are any issues. I also did not like the idea of the malabsorption aspect and the extra supplements you will need. Also did not want to deal with dumping (yes it can also happen with the sleeve but less common). For me I liked the idea of just making your stomach smaller much better than the idea of the rerouting that goes with the bypass. Also my surgeon and I talked about the options and he suggested the sleeve
  20. Has he gone to any appointments with you? Maybe try going to some support groups together. The way i see it, not being successful with previous attempts at weight loss is one of tje big reasons to have surgery. Best of luck to youand i hope he gets more supportive

    Unsupportive family

@@gary5862 ranting can be bery therapeutic. I hope once your wife has surgery things will be easier.

    Unsupportive family

Before my surgery i talked to my (soon to be ex) husband about how he felt about it, if je would be supportive and such. He basically said he would be supportive if it's something I wantd to so but it is not fair to ask him to change his lifestule because I made this decision (he is well over 300lbs so it wouldn't hurt him to eat healthier too) so at firt i was fine with that and he said he wanted to keep going to our favorite buffet...i said fine just dont tell me. So every other day this would happen Him: don't wait up for me with dinner, [lady friend] and and I have plans Me: where are you going? Him: you asked me not to tell you Then he wouldn't be home untill midnight

It is. You are trapped with that smell...i had the same thing. We were running errands and he got hungry so he pulled into McDonald's. I just got a cup of oce water but he got a full meal. I would have sold my soul, murdered my mother, sacrificed my first born to have a bite of that burger

    FDA finally approves AspireAssist

I'm glad you had success with it. But my opinion stays the same. I think it's something many people will want to do as a way to allow them to continue to make bad choices I'm sure people said horrible things about bypass and sleeve when they were new. Time will tell how this new device works out. For now in my opinion it seems like a bad idea.
  25. I think it will be popular also. People will think they can eat whatever they want and as much as they want and just suck it out
