    Vitamin Recommendations

I use Nascobal for B-12, vitamin patches for multivitamin & vitamin D, and I take vitafusion calcium.
  2. I mix my Genepro with water and crystal light twice a day, it makes it cloudy but doesn't alter the texture or flavor...my favorite by far. I will probably be devastated if my protein level is not high enough and I have to switch.
  3. I paid $3500 plus preop testing ($500 for stress test and $120 for EGD, and blood work, not sure how much Insurance is paying on that yet) I have good insurance BUT my with my BMI I had to have two comorbidities for it to pay and I don't. So I went to a doctor is Dallas that was $10000 cash pay and $1000 off plastic surgery in the future. He also performs an EGD as part of pre op and if you have a hiatal hernia then usually insurance will cover that procedure and you just have to pay the additional for the sleeve which was $3500. I have never been so thankful to have a hernia, lol!!

    Dr. Frenzel Arlington/Dallas

You will do great, I ended up having mine 11/23 with him. One thing I particularly like is that a doctor answers the phone on weekends for post op patients! I have lost 33.5 lbs since 11/09 so no complaints here!!

    Getting ready!

I tried the Caribbean cooler one. I don't usually like milk products so I asked for samples of fruits only so I could mix with Water BUT I love peanut butter Cookies...I need to try that!! Come join our secret FB group nov 2015 vsg! Send me a friend request on FB and I'll add you to the group. My name is Anna Montagna-GalanosI sent you one
  6. since I'm almost finished with all of my pre-op requirements I decided the other day to order samples of Syntrax Nectar and they came in the mail today. I was pretty disappointed when I saw how much powder they expected me to mix in one bottle of water but I pulled my shaker down and poured the whole packet and one bottle of water in it and mixed it up....I was very surprised at how well it mixed. The flavor was a little bland so I added some of my crystal light flavoring to it and it is a WIN!!! I am so excited that I know I will have something I can tolerate after surgery....if my tastes don't change!!'

    Cash pay?

I'm using Dr. frenzel and I believe his cash pay was around 11k but I have a hiatal hernia and insurance will pay to repair it so my part will be around 3k.

Cash pay doctors in the US

This is the same for me ready2bmenow My husband doesn't want me going to Mexico either and I definitely don't want to travel out there alone. He rather we pay the extra money to get it done in the states and I'm ok with that compromise. That sounds just like my husband. I ended up having a hiatal hernia so it is going to end up costing me about the same as Mexico! Hope your journey goes well!! I am still preop and can not wait!!

I just want to be normal.

I can't wait to be able to go to a theme park and not have to wonder if I'm going to be able to ride or not. I saw a dad today have to get off of a ride because the lap bar wouldn't go down and my heart broke for him.

    Cash pay?

Thank you so much! That is still better than having to jump through insurance hoops in my opinion

    Cash pay?

If you have a hiatal hernia, there are some doctors who will repair the hernia at the same time they perform the sleeve surgery. Then, the insurance will be billed for the hernia part of the surgery and you only pay out of pocket for the bariatric surgery. I have only found 3 surgeons that do this (all in Dallas, TX area): Clayton Frenzel, Nick Nicholson and Dr. Kim. Their fellow doctors that work in their clinics might also offer this option. I just spoke to Dr. Frenzel's office yesterday. If my insurance approves the hernia surgery, my out of pocket cost for the sleeve is $3500. Hope this helps! So is it $3500 total out of pocket or are you also responsible for any co insurance amounts not covered on the hernia repair? I am waiting on a call to schedule my EGD but didn't think to ask. Wondering if I will be responsible for the $3500 + my $2k deductible, which is still better than completely out of pocket or waiting for insurance approval, just curious.
  15. Has anyone used Dr. frenzel recently?? I am considering having the sleeve done and would like to hear from others that have used him!
