Dxx reacted to pcara68 in anyone using Vyvance (binging med) with Lapband?
The vyvanse seems to be going well for me along with the Wellbutrin so far its helping , I had to approach my Dr with
something I had printed off the vyvanse site because about it being approved for BED other wise she would have never
given me the med as you do have to use caution . I was running like crazy and it helped with getting weight off but only increased my appetite even more. I have been doing a lot of research into Keto way of eating and its working for me
and when you get into it a lot of your carb cravings go away because you are getting your energy from fat not carbs. I
don't go crazy with the exercise I have been moderate (eg walking) and the weight has been coming off.

I have not been able to eat a solid Breakfast in almost 3 years now....I start the day with a Home Made smoothie, high in Protein with fresh fruit, etc....
My Dr. also said this is not uncommon and warned me of it early on.......have thoughts on why this is, but not get into it now....
Besides....when you look at all the benefits combined in one of my smoothies....how much, and what kinds of foods could could I possibly eat to match it???

Dr. Fielding... i couldn't agree more with your 13 points... they are spot on. Thanks for writing this.
Banded 11/09..... What is this hunger you speak of... i never feel hungry. I wake up, wait about 30 min and have a cup of coffee, then another when i get to work at 7am. I fix myself a 1/2 cup of plan yogurt with some granola in it and eat on that till about 9-10ish... depends on how busy i am it sits on my desk and i eat a bite.. work.. bite...work. lunch comes around and i normally eat tuna or chicken salad with half of avocado... that normally takes me till 1ish... again depends on work. I normally have a snack of nuts or cheese. I cook supper... last night was Crawfish stew, rice and potato salad... (its a Louisiana thing)... i had a glass of wine while i cooked... ate my cup of stew with out the rice and two tablespoons of potato salad... The end. I eat slowly.. very slowly and i find im never hungry....
I saw my dr. every month for the firs 1.5 years.... some were for adjustments some were for just advice. I have been able to maintain an 80-87lb weightloss and could not be happier with my band.... I pray every night that the band gods keep me in there good graces....
    Thanks again.....

Dxx reacted to B-52 in Stomach Stretching question
    I have never heard this....
But what I think you are probably thinking about is stretching your pouch...the portion of your stomach above the band.
It is common...probably from eating too much, and drinking liquids while eating...ignoring the signals the band sends to slow down or stop altogether...(which is hard to do)
The pouch is still part of the stomach, and the stomach is designed to stretch and shrink depending on how much is put in there.
I never heard where the band was removed because of a dilated pouch...(although I can see it in the most severe cases) What a Dr. will do is instruct the patient to go all liquids for a period, giving the pouch a time to shrink back to normal.
If a Dr. feels a patient will not be able to control themselves and go all liquids on their own, he/she will do a complete un-fil, removing all Fluid from the band, along with it all restriction, which will also give the band a chance to rest and the pouch return to normal.
I have been banded for 5 years...I believe I can detect when my pouch is beginning to stretch....and because of this I will do, as the only maintenance I can think of, is go all liquids for 2-3 days...usually 2 days is enough, to give everything a chance to rest and re-set so to speak..
Then everything is as good as new....

I absolutely agree. I tight in the morning but not as much at night. I wish it were the other way around

Hi! I'm new here. However, I've had my lapband since January 19th of 2010. I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never asked this, but does anyone feel a difference in restriction between morning compared to evening?
