Anyone notice dizziness? I get dizzy in the afternoon. Could be from lack of food, could be from the Cymbalta. Thinking of taking it at night just in case... what do you guys/gals think?
  2. I have had periods like this. Heavy, lots of clots, bright red. I have gone to the ER for it too. They say if you bleed thru a pad in an hour then you need to go. If it is an hour and a half that is not bad and "don't worry." If it is rectal then that is another story... Just my experiences though... your case may be different.
  3. I have had one unfill, about 5 minutes after a fill... because I was throwing up water. Yuck! Instant relief with the loss of .4 cc's.
  4. I totally understand about being too tight. But if you are so tight you can not drink you need to get an unfill. I must drink something hot in the morning before I can even think about eating something... then I must take it REALLY slow. Had another PB today at 3:00 when I tried to eat my first bite of something. (Drink coffee, and Protein shake in mornings now.)
  5. I hear gas x helps with the shoulder pain. You might try that. As for night eating... yep... I am having issues with that. I finally understand how some people have issues with getting their protein in. I can hardly eat meat anymore. But have lost 2 lbs since Wednesday! Hope everyone is doing well on the water challenge. I am not doing too hot. Been drinking protein drinks during the day for liquids/protein/food. Hopefully, my stomach will adjust soon, although I don't want it to adjust too much. I need to lose the weight.
  6. Good Grief!! My second fill is going to do me in. I must drink warm liquids in the AM just to feel normal, and must not eat until around noon. Then about 3 I am wide open. Been drinking warm liquids before bed and when I wake up to try and help it. Would be better if it were winter. Anyone else this tight???

    1. Family and home life 2. Education: First in my family to graduate from College. 3. Career: I love to teach. 4. Ability to give my kid the things he wants/needs. Clothes, toys, food, etc. And I am very thankful for my son. Took us lots of meds/money/time to get him. 5. Modern day comforts (toilets, air conditioning, stove, etc) Believe it or not, I survived 9 months in a tent when I was 8. Taught me to appreciate alot. Unfortunately, now I live like someone that was raised during the depression. (I never throw anything away.) And my bonus #6.... Is JACK!!! I love Jack!..... Oh and everyone else here on LBT... truly don't know what I would have done without you guys/gals!
  8. I told: LBT members, Hubby, 3 friends, and 1 co-worker. Only told the co-worker because she wanted to do it too and went to the seminar with me. As of yet, I have a band and she does not...
  9. I ate it. Hawiian Delight/Gerbers is my favorite. Keep it for after my fills too. The turkey dinner was good too after I added some salt/pepper. But only did that once. I like the custards and fruits too. The peaches with a little ricotta was good. Added the Gerbers chicken to some broth and it made good soup.... but DO NOT get the beef... yuck! Other than that SF Jello Pudding/Protein Shakes/Yogurt/Ice Cream were my staples. Good luck!
  10. Not doing so hot on the water challenge since my fill. It is actually hard to drink a full 20 oz bottle in an hour. Used to take me 5 minutes... Maybe a little too full... but that is just fine with me! I can't wait for the scale to move.
  11. Yes off the Effexor onto Cymbalta. No nightmares yet... unless you count selling my house/moving... After this last fill my ability to eat has gotten a little worse/better depends on how you look at it. Now, I am not hungry until around 3 pm... and then I only eat because I get dizzy. But seems around 8-midnight I can eat and want to eat...
  12. Ok, I am a weird person. I was given the name and found the pic on the internet. I emailed the owner and got permission to use it as my avatar. Been using it ever since. I have 2 dogs, a Schnauzer and a Mutt... I don't have a poodle.
  13. I love Brits. I actually had a teacher ask me if I was raised in England because of the way I spell. I have a hard time dropping my E's and love to use that U. Don't know why... may be a carry over from a previous life or something..... I have a friend in England and we IM all the time. I think she reinforces my American ignorance. Oh the colours, rumours, etc...
  14. Some people say that after a week or so their fill "kicks in". Meaning that they don't think it is working at first and then.... bam... there it is. That is why they want at least 3 weeks between fills. (I think) My fill is sooo tight this morning. I can drink my coffee, but MAN am I tight. If this one "kicks in" in a week or so, I will be in trouble. Really hoping that my swelling will go down. Geez... talk about learning my lesson! So happy I had a little removed, I would have been totally miserable if not. So now I will recommend to everyone to go slow and stick around to drink if you can....

Anyone have an opinion regarding Cymbalta? Any side effects to worry about (especially curious about sexual side effects). Any experienced information would be helpful.
  16. I can eat sweet and sour chicken (w/o sauce) but can not eat chicken nuggets. (My first PB was on chicken nuggets.)
  17. Here is an update on my band saga today. Had my second fill, and oh what fun... http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?p=269834#post269834 I have been drinking my water, but have had tons of issues this week so have not kept up with the smileys/posting. But YEAH to those of you keeping up the good fight!!!
  18. Lesson learned: Went for my second fill today. Saw Dr. Maese and he added 1 cc. Which is not too agressive. Had my pretty band picture made and he said, "You are tight, be sure to drink warm liquids in the morning." Then I go into the waiting room to drink Water. Less than 5 minutes later, I am throwing up water, back on the table and they take out .4 cc's. I told him I was sorry (based on the "not patient friendly" information I found on the board, I was scared), but he told me that it was nothing to worry about that I was just not used to being that tight, and that I still have twice as much fill as I did before. Not to chatty after that, but I was fixed... Now I have 1.2 cc's.... and can swollow my spit... THANK GOODNESS. Ask and ye shall receive... But maybe less agressive fills are the way to go.
  19. Mousecrazy: I am VERY excited about my new job, my new band, my new HOUSE (we are building one while trying to sell another), and my new self-esteem. Lots of changes this summer! Regarding fill levels and eating later in the day. That is my biggest concern. I can not eat in the mornings, but I can eat two burritos easy at night. That is why I think I need a fill. Something needs to be done. Went to the doctor this morning, and he put me on new meds...Cymbalta. (Says that may help my back pain and "sexual side effects" that I was having on Effexor. Although, I do love Effexor...) But found out that I have lost 18 lbs! Yeah! Really need to watch the midnight Snacks though... bet that number would be really high by now if I skipped the midnight ice cream...
  20. Know some Drs have their way, and most with reasons, but wonder if you can request an aggressive fill? Don't want to spend months being cautious if I can get more in one "shot". For example: I have .6 cc in a 4 cc band, while most of my other Junebies are at around 2cc's... I was told .6 cc was good for a first fill, but don't want to go up .5 cc's at each fill and drag it out forever to "catch up" with my other bandsters... (and yes I know everyone is different, but hopefully you get my point.) Can you request an aggressive fill? Or are you stuck with what your Dr will "normally" do?
  21. My schedule is so off during the summer, but my band schedule has me off too. I am too tight to eat in the morning. (May drink a Protein shake if I can.) Can not eat anything until around 12-1 pm. Then I can eat a small meal. When it gets around 4, I am hungry. So I eat "dinner". Then feed the family, put them to bed, get online... and well... I'm hungry. Find that I can eat a WHOLE LOT after 9 pm. And will drink a big cup of milk/water/V8/etc to try and solve the problem... but if that does not work, I eat. Anyone else have the same issues? Any solutions?
  22. Have heard that it is just caffene that gives you the boost. Have some teenagers that have been on this and it makes them shake really bad. Also hear it raises blood pressure. I use B Complex for energy. That should help if that is all you are looking for. Good luck!
  23. I can not eat until around noon to 1 pm... then I can eat solids. Weird, but I can drink a shake in the am... so no big deal...
  24. A get together would be cool. I'll go in for a Christmas present.... As for the goal thing. We could do it based on % of body weight. We all have a different start number, and some have already lost more than others, based on their start number. For example: Atkins says you should be albe to lose 5% of your body weight in the first 2 weeks. 5% of 300 is 15 lbs. So whomever loses the largest % of their weight wins. Make sense? Just a suggestion.
  25. Don't think I could do it. Now my subconscience has cheated every once in a while in dreams... Orlando, Johnny, and Jackie Chan... Oh my!!! But in real life my dear hubby is all I want or need.
