  1. I've been thinking about weight loss surgery for about 2 years after a back surgery. I was trying to lose weight on my own and would lose a couple lbs a month but then I had this surgery and gained weight. I tried a diet again and couldn't get back in the grove. This summer I hit 293. That was my wake up call. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I'm pre op. I have my consultation scheduled in 2 weeks. I've been on a diet for 2 weeks since attending the seminar trying to watch portions and count calories replacing meals with Protein shakes. Well I've been sick since Tuesday with the stomach flu and colitis. I haven't really eaten since Monday I was feeling better today and had cottage cheese and sliced peaches, an orange for morning snack. Popcorn chicken with ranch for lunch. And as a snack..... 1 handful of bunchacrunch. They were calling to me. The milk also called to me too. That together was almost 500 calories. Barely 2 weeks in. This worries me. 3. I'm afraid of the staples in my stomach. I'm afraid I'll mess the whole process up and be denied. I'm afraid of constipation. I'm afraid of judgement and guilt. I feel like I'm taking the easy way out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hey!! I'm from Lexington KY! But I live in ohio now. :-/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I used to live in G-town too!! My aunt still lives there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Along these lines I guess I will wear whatever covers my excess skin. :-/ I can't wait to be able to shop at Old Navy again!! Lane Bryant is expensive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I was wondering what it's like waking up from he surgery. Will I have a catheter? Will I have a pain pump? Will I have an NG tube? When will I get to drink Water or ice cubes? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I'm paranoid I'm going to do all this stuff and the insurance will still deny this. What are some reasons for denial? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I was just called and scheduled my consult appointment for Sept -10th and my psych eval for October 7th. She said all my insurance requires is a form proving I've tried to lose weight for 6 months on my own . How do prove this? I have had gym member ships and doing slim fast and I did weight watchers earlier this year but how do prove it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Did you have the surgery yet? No. Not yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Sick as hell. I was in the ER yesterday for what was possible appendicitis turns out it was the stomach flu with colitis. Morphine barely helped the pain. I can't stop throwing up and having diarrhea. I can't eat solid foods because I throw them up. I'm fucking miserable. How am I going to survive this surgery? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I am very curious about this too. Yesterday I was in the ER all day for what appeared to be appendicitis but was the stomach flu and some colitis. I thought I was dying. Morphine barely helped. How am I going to survive this surgery? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Vaping help me tremendously. I obviously have an oral fetish hence the over eating and smoking etc so I was able to cut back the amount of nicotine in the oils and over 7 months I was able to go down to 0. I still vape when I'm stressed out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I'm on the shot. Will the surgery mess up my cycle? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I felt the opposite. He said by-pass was outdated and had far more complications than the band and sleeve. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Ok. Someone who has had the surgery very nonchalantly mentioned today that she is not allowed to take NSAIDs anymore. I gobble that crap like its candy due to chronic pain and spine injury with nerve damage. Now what do I do? Can I keep taking gabapentin, zanaflex and tramadol? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I'll probably be around April. Seems like sooooooo long. I worry about losing too much weight pre op and them being like "oh ok you don't need surgery you can do it on your own". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I would not recommend PB or banana personally. Too many carbs. Suck it up, liquid is rough, but you can do anything for a few weeks, your life is about to change so much, a few days of suckiness is OK. I need you to follow me around for the next 6-7 months lol. 18. I'm pre op just starting the process. I told my husband, my mom, a good guy friend, my supervisor at work and a co worker. Other than that I don't plan on telling anyone else. If they read my blog then they will know. It will be interesting to see who reads it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I haven't even had my consultation yet but I can tell you every social occasion I have friends and family other than my husband is centered around food. If I do not participate in this behavior I fear my social life, or what remains of it will suffer drastically. That's my only problem I've seen so far. I never get the urge to pig out and gorge myself but I will miss food. I will miss the way it makes me feel but this is sooo worth it for my back injury. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Mine just said a supervised diet. My paper work wanted to know if I had tried those things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. My consultation is in a few weeks. I'm already starting to make some changes such as portion control, tracking calories and Protein shakes as Meal Replacements. I hear that 2 week liquid diet is awful so I'm trying to start early lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Social worker at a Substance Abuse Center. I used to be lead counselor at a residential site however due to chronic pain due to my weight and a back injury (which is why I'm getting surgery) I was "laterally transitioned" to be the Assessment Specialist in the beginning of August because it's less work. I miss my old position sooo much!!!! But I was missing a lot of work due to back related injuries from a car accident in 2011. I'm lucky I still have a job in the field I love I guess but I guess I just haven't settled into the position yet. :-/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I've been looking into an app called Bariatric IQ. I don't have an apple watch but hope to for my birthday in October or Christmas. I still have 6 months of supervised weight loss til my surgery. For that I use My Fitness Pal. I had bought an app for $10 called Fitday because I could add things from the website on my computer when I'm at work but there's so many bug I just can't even. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
