I believe the surgery will definitely help. I mean, I'm hoping to not have to have total knee replacement for at least 6 months or so.

    Starving

It's different for everyone. I'm a week and a half post op and I can definitely feel the fullness. I've been able to do that from the day of my surgery with the ice chips. It really depends on the surgery and each individual. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Not feeling full

I get full fast. I'm about 1 week post op and I have to space my Fluid intake, and still get my fluids in, which I've been able to do every day since my phase I post op diet started this past Monday. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  6. Right now it's weekly on a Sunday. I may change that to every two weeks or monthly. Don't know yet. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  7. Well, it depends on everyone's different phases. My phase I post op diet is still Clear liquids. I don't start phase II until this coming Monday. So there is nothing I can eat other than what's on my phase I sheet. But I'm ok with that. That's why I got the surgery. To make changes and follow instructions so I can get to my goals. Say what?!

For me, I will not accept 1 percent of fat more than what my ideal weight is, which is 140-145. I am 5'7" and that weight puts me a little higher than smack dab in the middle of normal weight. I did not have this surgery to accept less. I don't care what any doctor or nutritionist says. It's my goal. I still remember what I looked like at 155 lbs and I had at least 10 more pounds to go to get to the weight I'm supposed to be at. I won't settle for less. My NSVs include getting my health back and being able to work out like I used to; to go hiking when I want; to be able to do my career with the most versatility. But I will not budge on that weight, because I KNOW I will get there. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Denied

I have chondromalacia patella and osteoarthritis in both of my knees. I take pain meds and have had injections in both knees. The injections aren't bad and they can really help you be more active. I know I will have to have a total knee replacement on my right knee soon, as two out of the three joints are severe. The most important thing is to be proactive about it. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Best place in Mexico?

I just got back from Tijuana and my gastric bypass surgery. I went through BariatricPal TeamMX and Bill Yanez. Dr. Illan is one of the best bariatric surgeons in the entire North American continent! And the other doctors, nursing staff, and valets are the best. Oasis of Hope Hospital is a great place with spacious rooms and the nurses come quickly if you push the nurse button. A doctor comes in to visit you at least two times a day to check how you're doing, check your incisions, and answer any questions you may have. Then, you go to Puebla Amigo Hotel and Casino and the rooms are wonderful. One of the doctors you already have met comes every day to check on you. The valets are available to help you during your stay there. They will take you out to tours and shopping and to eat. I have had zero complications since my surgery. I also like the post-op diet phases. I have 9 phases. I feel it allows me to slowly get back to a normal diet, while allowing my pouch to heal. I know I can call the doctor or send her an email if I have any questions. I can also call or email my nutritionist there with any questions. I have two weight loss sisters and I know we will keep in touch. I just wanted to share my experience. I hope this helps. Please get in touch with Bill Yanez if you have any more questions. Feeling Bad Today

Well, I don't know if it will help, but I had gastric bypass on December 12th, and when I left to come home on the 17th, I was at the airport and bought some Gatorade Fruit Punch. I had a few sips. It was really sweet to me, so I tried to dilate it with Water. I took a few more sips. Then a few minutes later, I felt lightheaded. I figured it was the sugar in the Gatorade. So I bought some Glacéau Vitamin Water Revive Fruit Punch, and the lightheadedness stopped. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Bowels after surgery

I had diarrhea the fourth day after my surgery because I ate something I shouldn't have. Besides that, I haven't had any issues. Matter of fact, I had three mostly normal bowel movements after my surgery. No blood in my stool. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Day 6 cheat

I just want to say that although making mistakes or bad choices, but there are people who did not make mistakes on their pre-op diet. That's not to say that anyone is better than anyone else. I'm just stating facts. That being said, you can do this!!! Get back on your program in order to help your surgeon have the easiest time with your surgery. Take it moment by moment. Make a vision board or journal your meals. What helped me keep on my pre-op diet is that I wanted the best outcome possible. And I wanted to prove to myself that I can do it. Do what you need to do to complete the rest of your pre-op diet by making the right choices. Because it does matter. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    First Day of Pre-op Diet!

Thanks @! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  22. I'm finishing up my first day of my pre-op diet. So far, pretty decent. Yes, my stomach is acting like it hasn't eaten in forever, but I know it's getting more than enough. I have had some short temper moments, to be sure. And I have looked for ways to eat something that isn't 'that bad'. But, other than one cough drop, I have adhered to my plan. I know it will get easier each day I'm on it. Day 2 here I come!! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
