Married and living in West London, I was born in Australia.
No kids, no pets, just me and the Hussyband living with the Mother-in-Law, but we are heading up to Liverpool early next year to start anew somewhere you can buy a house without going into debt for the rest of your natural life.
I have been thinking about having weight loss surgery for a long time - way before I met my beloved Hussyband. A friend in Tasmania had it and it worked wonders for her. But I wasn't ready then. I was having way too much fun being the happy drunken party girl. Yes I was big - but it never stopped me from having fun, and by having fun I mean picking up lots of strange men for gratuitous fun of course! Think Trainwreck - I know when I saw it last week I thought that it was a biographical movie of my 20's and early 30's!
I am blogging my journey together with pics, videos and recipes as I go. It can be found at http://aussiefoodiesjourney.blogspot.co.uk/
Hope you will check it out. It is a big step we are taking, but whilst it is hard, it would be harder to stay the way we are now.
    Much love,
    Elisa

Hi all again. I'm from south Sydney - near Hurstville. Day 12 post op today and I had the thought I'm nearly ready for work - going back on In 2 more days. Mind you, yesterday I was out and about all day and came home for a nap. 7.5kg down, managing puréed food pretty well and easily getting in 1.5 L Fluid. Love being able to manage most of a cup of tea!!
But the best news of all is that my Dr stopped my blood pressure tablets yesterday!! Yay!!!

6 days on -eating about 10 teaspoons of puree twice a day plus porridge for breakfast and yogurts for Snacks - as well as 1.5L Water - mainly with a bit of cordial. All going well. Minimal pain. Plenty of energy.

Hi Shotochick, glad you had a good time away. I'm 4 days post op and had some porridge today! Tasted good and went down well. Really have to master taking tablets separately from Breakfast as I went on to take tablets after porridge and felt more full than I have ever done yet! Still a bit wiped from an anaesthetic so resting a lot but hardly any pain now. Good luck with the pre op diet! Eyes on the prize. I am 5 kilos down!

Shudder! Prepping chicken, beef and fish stocks for the clear liquids phase, Will freeze in muffin tins then pop out and bad so that they stack. When I can add stuff I will run them through a nutribullet with oritein and veg so that they are smooth.
Now a thai red curry I would do...but not a madras or roganjosh!

Hi - I am having my sleeve on the 17th of September in London....nervous...plottig my broth and soup-making now so I can freeze lots so all I have to worry about is making sure when my husband is eating stinky curries I have something to resort to without killing him!

You can take soluble paracetamol. I stocked up on some from my GP before surgery and the hospital gave me them as I couldn't have morphine for the first 2 days. When I left hospital they sent me home with two boxes just remember to let the bubbles settle before drinking it. They work !!
BTW Welcome to the forums... There are a few UK people here and they are all lovely and very willing to help and support
