  1. Congratulations! I can relate! I can be an ostrich also....I'm tempted to call my insurance company today but thought well, surgery is not until February so I can wait for it....lol
  2. Also, right after surgery it can be frowned upon because caffeine is a vasoconstrictor (constricts blood vessels) and it's thought might slow healing from surgery.
  3. Glad to hear it is a good option! I am all for trying new and different types and flavor of protein. Off to shop Amazon....
  4. I'm loving unjury unflavored. Check their website for recipes....I love the jello recipe
  5. Congratulations! I hope to be sitting in the approved section with you soon!!
  6. Lol love it! I can not drink black coffee but I was successful at only fat free cream a few days ago!
  7. I am not giving up caffeine. But I might try your recipe too! Sounds good
  8. So I have had to experiment with my coffee...bye bye cream and sugar, hello vanilla protein shake. But making a pot of coffee and adding protein shake waters it down. I have found that adding a Starbucks Via packet to a protein shake is much better! Better coffee flavor, not watered down and if I add a bit of boiling water it's nice and warm too ????☕️
  9. I have a surgery date for early February. I was hoping for January but my surgeons OR schedule for January is full. So, who is with me in the February surgery corner?? Oh and I am having a sleeve...started my pre op diet on January 1st and will continue it until surgery.
  10. No worries! You do not owe anyone an explanation as to the foods you eat. Boundaries ???? Good luck!
  11. Thank you all! Per my coordinator my insurance is relatively quick to approve and rarely denies so we shall see!
  12. So, I have met all my requirements for surgery. Crossed all the "T's" and dotted all of the "I's" Paperwork submitted to insurance yesterday so now we wait ......???? Hoping it comes back SOON!!!
  13. Doing very well! I'm not hungry at all and I weighed myself last night and I am down 4 lbs since Jan 1st ! So super happy about that and motivated to continue!!
  14. Thanks all! I am waiting for Amazon to deliver my bullet so I will blend and try again when it arrives......but I plan on mixing some powder in my blender tonight. I have a Vitamix so we will put it to good use tonight ☺️
  15. That's exactly what I'm doing! Lol I have a 24oz Starbucks cup and I'm continually sipping from it....when I start to feel a tad bit like I might be hungry I take a few long sips to help tide me over for a bit. So far so good!!!!!
  16. So I started my liquid diet today.....um, so far so good! Im just trying to make sure I get a lot of Protein so Im not hungry.....we shall see how it goes! Anyone else starting the liquid fun with me this week?
  17. So, I did buy some and its not bad! I will continue to use it as I start my liquid diet....
  18. Thanks all. I hate chewy gummy things that get stuck in my teeth which is why i am considering crushing my meds. But.....after being on a liquid diet maybe I will welcome the chance to chew something even if it gets stuck in my teeth! hahahah
  19. So , I have my list of Vitamins I will be taking post op....Im not really hot on the idea of chewable vitamins. I am considering just doing regular pills and crushing them....anyone done this?
  20. So I am online tonight ordering small containers to use post op for my lunches....small 1- 2 oz containers and I started looking at the Protein powders Target carries because I have free shipping. I checked the stats on the Market Pantry Target brand and it looks pretty good! I compared to Premier Protein powder which is what my nutritionist prefers. Im intrigued because the stats look good and its inexpensive at 17.49 Anyone used this brand? here are the stats for the vanilla protein powder.... 21. Does anyone else feel that weight is more of a stigma in the gay community than in society in general? I think maybe even more so for men....
  22. Ha ha I just noticed this topic was posted in "the guys room" ! No wonder I haven't seen this post before! LOL
  23. Add me to the list! Hoping for surgery in January 2016 and I am being quiet about it. My partner is the only person who knows I'm having a sleeve ! Where is everyone from? Chicago here
