Tired of "embracing the stall !"

The majority of my intake is premier protein...at least 2 shakes a day, fair life milk in the morning, protein powder in my daily soup for dinner. My goal is 80gm /day and I'm hitting it 99% of the time.

Anyone else experince numbness after surgery?

Have you seen a neurologist? Neurological problems can be a sign of B vitamin deficiencies.

    How to help my daughter

Also care packages with great foods that are healthy. Low carb, high protein would be a good way to encourage good habits.

    How to help my daughter

One thing I did its to use the same app. Jawbone has an app I have linked to my Apple Watch that tracks steps and I can monitor my friends steps. We can start "step wars" and see who wins. It's a fun way to stay accountable and still get in exercise every day It's also a fun way to "check in" with people who don't necessarily live close to uou

Tired of "embracing the stall !"

I should also add it makes me not want to advance my diet because I fear I will never lose if I do. I hate that I'm losing faith and thinking well, I have lost 40lbs and feel much better so maybe my body just wants to be stuck at 205 forever.... I know with my sleeve I will lose but it's disheartening as hell!

    Lets talk sausage....

I have loved Dreamfields for years! But I feel pasta of any kind is a slippery slope for me. First pasta then I'm in the pantry at 3am eating an entire baguette...lol

    Lets talk sausage....

Thank you! I'm a Trader Joes devotee so I will check out the sausage this weekend. In my pre op life I loved TJ chicken sausage

    Lets talk sausage....

Djmohr- what type of sausage do you use? Regular Italian sausage (pork) or do you go for the turkey Italian sausage now?

    Lets talk sausage....

Thank you! One of my most fond childhood memories is my Nonna letting me have a taste of her sauce as it simmered on the stove for hours until dinner. For lunch I would have a small bowl of sauce with bread to dip. A small bowl of my Nonnas sauce is hands down my favorite food ever!

  15. Reading the OP once again I truly feel you need to see someone. I know it's extreme but have you considered an inpatient stay to address your issues with depression? It seems like everything is being blamed on the surgery and sometimes it's not that simple. Please seek help from a mental health professional before making any major decisions like seeking reversal surgery.
  16. I'm so sorry you are going through this. I am not sure a reversal would alleviate your physical pain. I assume you are seeing a therapist? If not please speak to someone, they can help you have a more positive outlook on life in general. Have you ever had any other surgery besides your bypass? I'm just curious about how you handle surgery. Some people are great and you would never know they had anything done. Others take weeks to recover fully and it's an arduous process. It just depends on your body.

Omg you two are terrible! Lol I meant Italian sausage from the butcher shop... Forget it, there's no way to not misconstrue this thread ! Lol
  19. I understand completely! I am 2 weeks out and after consistent losses since I started my pre op diet January 1, 2016. (Sleeved February 10,16) I have stalled for 4 days and I want to scream! I'm doing everything right, still on liquids , protein 60+grams a day, fluids 60oz a day. And STALLED! [emoji853] But I know if I stay the course the scale will be in my favor soon !!!
  20. Good luck! I was sleeved 2/10/16 and am thrilled with results already!!!!

There is poop and I cant poop

Mineral oil helps to lubricate but Miralax helps to pull water back into the colon. One of the side effects of dehydration is your body searches for water anywhere it can find it. That also means it will leach water out of your colon and your stool to keep itself as hydrated as possible. Resulting in hard stools.

    Help I'm hungry!

I am on a PPI and get hungry...but I can usually shut that demon up with sipping some hot tea with lemon. I realize that my tummy interprets anything as satiating now so protein shake, tea, water....pretty much all the same. So if I'm hungry when I should not be or between protein shakes I head for tea
  24. So, my surgery was today!! Everything went smoothly and no complications. My mouth feels dry like the desert and although I don't have any shoulder gas pain I am belching like a guy in a bar downing a few beers. Overall it's been wonderful and I did have a quick flash of "should I do this?" But that thought passed quickly! So now I'm walking the halls and feeling no pain, just a little sore. Anyone else run the gauntlet with me today???
