Wow! That's extremely interesting! I am addicted to historic photos of the city and its inhabitants. I must research this further....

    Friday NSV roll call!

The Impressionists are beautiful, aren't they? Glad you enjoyed. Next time go to the Metropolitan Museum. It's huge so map it out first. The artwork is beyond stunning. Agreed ! and look into the Frick collection....it's unbelievable but I strongly suggest buying tickets online before your visit. The line routinely stretches around the block and then some for same day tickets.
  4. I am scheduled this month for surgery. I have been on my pre op diet ( voluntarily) since January 1st. Although I log myfood And pay attention to total calories and very day, I never really went back at looked at my total daily intake say over the course of a week. This weekend I received my new Withings scale and after I started syncing it with my fitness pal and other apps I noticed something. The Withings shows you the total caloric intake our a period of a few days. It was then that I realized I am eating between 500 and 600 cal a day. Hmmm.... Not sure if it's good because I'm going to be ready for surgery or not because I'm still pre op. I did email my nutritionist and am waiting on a return email. So, about how many calories do you consume a day??

    Calories per day ?

I agree B52. I need to contact the physician I saw a few years ago who tested my resting metabolic rate. I have a slow metabolism. It was something like 900-1000 calories a day. So I need to eat less to lose. That's my goal today to call and get my chart from that weight loss physician! ????
  6. The best way I have found is to have Botox injections.

    Calories per day ?

I was a tad surprised when I saw that day after day I'm under 600 cal. It's bad but I'm not thrilled to potentially be eating more ! How crazy is that??!??

    Comments from only one sex

I also NEVER EVER assume someone is pregnant! Even if they are wearing a shirt that says "baby on board" lol....

    Comments from only one sex

As a rule unless it is someone I am close to I never comment on weight. As for the men at work, They might also fear someone claiming sexual harassment.
  12. Sorry this is such a long and circuitous route to find out what your coverage is! Has your surgeons office has any other patients with your insurance?? Good luck and hope the insurance rep can help Iron things out.
  13. I am having surgery in February. I have told no one except my partner. No one needs to know IMO. It's my business and not fodder for people's unsolicited opinions. What I have done far is around Thanksgiving I started telling everyone how I started working with a nutritionist ( not a lie! I did but for surgery prep and beyond) Now this month I have been on my pre op liquid diet since January 1st and people are starting to notice I am losing weight. I say thank you, I have been working with a nutritionist since the first of the year! This is how I will continue. I don't want any opinions so I will not give anyone any way to judge me. Good luck!

My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season

But, Dr Now did say why didn't you let us know it was too expensive instead of not taking it?
  15. I currently have a Withings scale and I'm not sure I'm thrilled with it. So, what scales do you have and have you found it to be accurate?? I'm a firm believer in the stick to one scale mantra but I have lost faith in my one scale.
  16. Nurse_Lenora

    Lets talk scales....

So I must update and say that my new Withings scale arrived. I love this scale! Much better than my last Withings and I am loving their app this time.
  17. It all depends on your body. I have been on my pre op liquid diet ( my choice, surgeon says 2 weeks) since January 1st. Surgery is not until February. In 29 days I lost 25lbs and counting! My starting weight was 242.5 Good luck!

Tips for caring for kids after surgery?

Oh also if you trust the 2 year old ditch the crib and put crib mattress on the floor. With a baby proofed bedroom you can put a baby gate in the doorway so someone does not run through the house at 2 am! Lol

Tips for caring for kids after surgery?

If your 2 tenfold can climb on the couch, put down a blanket and change diapers there or on the floor. If they have a small kids table let the 2 yr old eat meals there and you can sit on the floor next to him. I would say in everything you do, go the easy route! If it takes letting them watch tv a little more or letting the 2 yr old climb on the couch alone girl do it! If you have a lazy boy type chair.. Start now teaching 2 yr old how to sit with you...you sit on edge of chair, back 2 yr old up to the chair and then release the foot rest.you sit back and baby is on your lap. Easy way to snuggle! I would also make sure I grocery shopped for easy but healthy meals for post op so you are not trying to grocery shop after. Make ahead meals and freeze them. Good luck!

  21. I'm glad your surgeons office is dealing with everything for you. That's what you pay them for! ( or insurance pays them whatever! Lol)

  23. Excellent point! One of the best and easiest ways to recover quickly from surgery and prevent a lot of gas pain is to get up and walk as soon as you are allowed!
  24. Congratulations! Awesome accomplishment!!!
  25. I'm sure you already did this but, did you scour your insurance companies website for the info??
