  1. I had the sleeve on 8-19-15. I have over 200# to lose!!!! I lost 25# on my pre op liquid diet but have lost 28 in the 7 weeks since surgery. I'm not always perfect but I wonder if I'm getting enough in or is it too much? I typically eat all Protein 3x/day & don't eat between, per my NUT (Tuna, chicken, salmon & sometimes a 1/2 premiere protein shake). I eat about 2oz/meal. I experienced that dreaded 3 week stall it seems, lost 5 pounds after & "gained" 2 back. I have not lost constantly since week 2. I try to get Water in although it makes me feel nauseated. I do well if I get 32oz in. Am I impatient? Not eating enough? Expecting miracles? Doomed? Any advice is appreciated.
  2. I was 2 weeks late prior to my surgery & unfortunately got mine about 4 days before surgery. It didn't cause any problems. I'm 6 weeks post op & late again. Things are out of whack. : ) Try not to worry too much!
  3. My therapist has worked with me on making a vision board. My focus is to find things that represent the life I want once I lose the weight & along the process. I've used pinterest & magazines to find pictures. She suggested I divide my board board roughly in to mind, body, spirit sections - I may be forgetting a section. Also, I came up with a 'mantra' to add, "I have everything I need for the life I deserve." There is a picture of me in the middle of when I felt very happy. I hope that gives you some ideas!
  4. I had surgery on 8-19 & am down 30lbs plus 25 from 2 week liquid diet. 55lbs total! I have a long way to go. I jealous of you that feel so good at this point! : ) I feel nauseous almost every time I eat & drink. I chew each bite 30 times & wait a minute before the next (waiting for the next bite is the hardest!) I feel confident I'm not overeating as I portion out my ounces. Water, Crystal Light tastes horrible to me & I just feel nauseous! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! So happy to hear everyone is doing so well!
  5. You do it your way. No one asked you to support ice cream. Calm down & stop with the sarcastic demeaning comments. It holds no value & just takes up space
  6. You are on your journey & she is on hers. YOU are not responsible for everyone on this site & you do not have to police every suggestion to make sure it fits into your way of thinking. It's almost like some of you sarcastic ones are jealous because her NUT said this is OK. A simple, kind response stating your opinion is enough. The flippant, rude, nonsupportive comments tell me way more about you and your own personal struggles and issues than it does about your simple opinion on a 'milkshake'.
  7. @@Babbs comments like that make me wonder why I come here to look for answers. Why do some people on here have to be so nasty? What's going on in your lives that you just can't be kind? Isn't that the purpose of this or is it to throw sarcastic comments around and mock others?
  8. Hi @@Miz.Phenom. how are you doing?
  9. That's great advice, @boombalatty. I would second having the broth. Since I was missing my coffee, I put mine in one of those reusable travel mugs. There was something about having something hot for a change. You might want to contact your doctor to let them know you're struggling. Prior to me starting he said I could have a few ounces of chicken but I didn't need it. I think some Protein Shakes seem more filling than others. One I made from my own Protein Powder & milk did not do the trick like Premier Protein. They are pre made & only 11oz and very filling. Another thing that helped me was the anticipation of how much I could lose before surgery! Thinking of that motivated me to stick to it. I lost 25 in the two weeks & they said it contributed to my easy recovery.
  10. Hi. I'm 2.5 weeks post op & feel better when I don't eat. I'm confident I'm not eating too much and I'm eating what the NUT suggests. Have you experienced this? In addition, I really miss that satisfaction feeling I get after eating a meal. I look forward to eating but then it really doesn't taste that good & not satisfying. For any of you that are further along, does this get better? I appreciate any feedback.
  11. I had my surgery on 8-19. I've noticed that for me I'm "full" when my chest feels tight. I haven't felt the full feeling yet & wonder if we will. : )
  12. I felt this was unfortunately very condescending. I understand the original posters issue. I would feel the same way. It's feeling like your expectations arent met. You expected the surgeon. In my 1 week follow up I had specific questions about the surgery. I was told about a couple small things post op/recovery & wanted to ask my surgeon. The PA that visited with me didn't know me, didn't know what happened during my surgery, etc. I was never told post op visits would not be with the surgeon.
  13. I'm one week out & am curious how much exercise you're doing/did do at this stage?
  14. Mind if I ask who your surgeon is? That post op diet sounds exactly like mine.
  15. I'm so sorry you're going through this but I have to tell you I opened the app to find advice about this same concern! I'm 3 days post op & supposed to be able to take yogurt, applesauce, etc and only sip on protein shake in between. I feel better if I get that protein in. The fluff stuff doesn't do it for me. : ) Hope this concern improves for you soon!
  16. Hi! I'd like to be on this club. : ) I was 450, lost 25 on two week liquid diet. Now I'm 4 days post op. Good luck to all of you!
  17. I'm excited! Dr. Hoehn is doing the sleeve. I did well on the 2 week liquid. I'm very, very lucky. I think I messaged you. Have you started yet?
  18. You look amazing! Have any secrets to share? : )
  19. Hi! I've been on a liquid diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery *Aug 19* and I was allowed to have certain protein shakes, broth, sugar free jello and sugar free Popsicles. It was great! I really didn't have any problem at all. I think I dreaded it more than anything. I feel so lucky to realize I can be starving & a little 11oz shake can satisfy me. I lost a little over 20 pounds but still have a couple days to go before surgery. I stuck to it 100%
  20. Hi! I've been trying to take this journey one step at a time & prep for the next step along the way. My surgery is the 19th but I'm thinking ahead to what it will look like when I come home for the first few days. Did you sleep a lot? Did you feel like having company? What helped & what hurt? Thank you!
