So how did it go? I signed up for an 8 mile offroad race here in Michigan in November. Goal is next year to do the 30 mile full off road race. I am new to cycling and can do probably 45-50 miles at a time, but have never raced.

Thanks Kathy! I have been riding to work. It's about 13 miles each way. I did it one day last week and I rode again yesterday and today. 2 in a row was rough. I may gave to space them out a bit, my motor is running on empty. I burn 2200 calories a day riding to and from work. Its about 50min each way. such a great workout.

  3. My only regret is that I did not have my surgery sooner! #soblessed

  4. I am 4 months post-op sleeve, down a total of 115 lbs since I started the journey. Went into a big and tall store (just to know I don't HAVE to be there) that carried the size jeans I now fit in to. I walked in and the lady there asked if I was there to shop for someone who is big and tall. I never heard that before and I almost cried and gave her a hug. Feeling AWESOME!!!

I bet that felt amazing! Congrats to you. Similar situation here. I actually went into a Levi's store this weekend to try on jeans. I was worried that they wouldn't have any that would fit. I ended up with 4 new pairs of 42 waist. Time to toss the 54s! Congrats to you Bill!

  5. I finally had to buy new jeans. I have been wearing my 52" waist jeans the past 4.5 months since surgery. I just keep adding holes to my belt and it wraps around my side, almost to my back. Well, I noticed the other day that the pants really look bad in the back where they bunch together and I don't have a butt to fill the seat of the jeans. I was pleasantly surprised to find that, I am now a size 42" jeans. Heck yes!

Thanks! I figured I'd be like a 44 or 46. I have not worn 42 in at least 16 years. I have found a replacement addiction. I can't stop buying workout clothes. My wife may divorce me. She keeps yelling at me to stop buying so many clothes, but I have 5 totes of clothes to replace.

  9. I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. Thank You, for your inspiration, your information, and willingness to help! Looking forward to starting 2016 a new person. I am proud, and you should be too, of all you have accomplished and are aspiring to accomplish in the new year ahead. You are AMAZING, and don't let anyone make you feel any less.

@jane13 - I am sorry you are going through some stuff. Best of luck with that and I am sure you will bounc back. I have been getting slightly off track as well with all of the holidays and parties. I keep reminding myself that this cannot be the new norm. I have to try to be diligent, but if I stumble, I must get back on track.

  11. As much as I love the holidays I can't wait for it to be over and all these temptations between the office, holiday parties and even my own house to be gone. I've allowed myself to do too much grazing. Thankfully it hasn't come back to bite me in the ass on the scale. That no reason to justify it though.

I can relate to this. I too have been over tempted and even indulged in some things I wish I hadn't. Has not haunted me yet but I know that this week will be trying. all I can do is my best, and work out harder than my best leads me to believe I am capable.

  13. A good friend killed themselves today. Sad and mad. Three kids who have to deal with this, and the loss of a sweet soul.

So sorry for your, and the kids, loss. Unfortunate that this happens so frequently any time of the year, but even more sad that it seems to be more prevalent this time of the year.

  18. Almost there --- I have now lost 99 pounds from my all time high and am close to a normal BMI. I am just reveling in all the compliments especially from my family and friends. The loose skin is beginning to show and I have lost a moderate amount of hair - small price to pay for health and looks advantages of sleeve. I am thrilled and now looking at the long haul of maintenance. My appetite is much improved which is scarey but I am staying completely away from refined sugar which helps. I have been given an absolute miracle with this surgery and I am deeply grateful. Happy Holidays to all my friends on this forum.

  20. That dreaded moment you are told you need to come to the trauma center to meet your spouse. It has been a rough couple of days. Hubby broke his C2 vertebrate which is right up underneath your skull. We are so blessed that he is not paralized. We spent days on the nuerology floor at our local trauma center. I didn't grab my vitamens or protien drinks (only 4 weeks post op)....I ate mushy protiens at the hosptial and took lots of walks to help with the stress. I know my vitaman levels will be a mess later this week at the dr, but I am proud of my self for not turning to food in a time where no one could blame me for doing it. Total NSV!

Sorry you are having to go through this so soon post op, and sorry you have to go through it at all. Best of luck to him, and you on both of your recoveries.

@goblue9280 Keep it up! Thats awesome. I am also counting from the start of my pre-op diet, as that counts as 25 pounds. Otherwise, I only lost a measly 75 pounds since surgery (I am being sarcastic, 75 lbs. is still nothing to scoff at)
