  1. I was on the lap to sleeve revision journey until I sat down and did my homework and really thought about it.For me I look at it this way...Inhad the choice at the time back in 2004 andvI went with "The hot new trend and flavor of the month "The lapband".....misery,failure and pain......I am now if given the right opportunity going to choose the bypass...,.I am going to go for the Gold!!!! Finally!!!:-)
  2. Have you gotten an upper GI with barium swallow?Endoscopy, and CT scan...? Think of it this way....you need to prove you are not a crybaby and it's not psychological.....When you get the bad reflux go to your PCP and get a referral or call a gastroenterologist and get it on record...See your sleeve surgeon.....take yourself to the ER....prove what you are feeling...that my approach.....documentation....
  3. I am 51 and trying desperately to work my way to lap band to bypass revision....this has got to happen...50's are the new 30's in my book...but much wiser!!!
  4. Great...getting the band out is like heaven....
  5. Wicked....who is your surgeon? If it is Dr.Kurian she is quite fast....and knowledgeable. So maybe you go this route to get the bypass...if insurance is covering the surgery. If the band still is an issue its easy to take out....get that bypass done
  6. If you get denied then look up the Lindstrom patient advocacy....they can help you appeal...
  7. I am post metatastic breast cancer...lal aye worried about what next..,,I pray for you and your loved one..,.blessings.
  8. I have the same thing going on with the lab band....I just had a cat that confirmed a hernia, also an upper GI with barium swallow....results will confirm the reflux etc.I am going to opt for the bypass revision after all.I wanted the sleeve but in the end bypass is my final choice.
  9. The one thing that is evident...the band is defective....
  10. I am so sad to hear this....Imtoo am having the most insane problems with this lapband...just had aUpper GI with barium today...endoscopy next week....something ain't right.....What test indicated that you have Barrets ? also who is your insurance....??? take care ....
  11. Long2Bfree, Do you have acid reflux?Have you had a upper GI series and ct scan?An endoscopy?I found out these are tests that need to be performed....the CT scan pshowed that I had a mild hiatal hernia....you definitely gotta keep watching this band...bypass has come a very long way since I elected to have my band in 2004...leaps and bounds! I also can't go on being this fat....no way....
  12. Life is too short...quietly plan ,execute and ditch!!!!!
  13. Hey EllasMom, I know that feeling!!!listening to others ...letting them talk you into their way of thinking because they "think" they no better!!!!!I am also not looking for the new"hottest" procedure like I did with the band!!! I will opt for the Gold Standard of WLS " this time...bypass...once and for all!
  14. Getting a good deal of weight off is what's important....exact poundage varies....you want to be healthy with a good BMI.
  15. I am a metatastic breast cancer survivor....I gained all my weight back and This is scary
  16. I was going with the sleeve but I am going with the bypass....I got too much weight to lose and I don't want another "it's the new" I should of gotten the bypass instead of the band in the first place. This acid reflux has really done a job on me....not cutting 85% of a lapband abused stomach. Now with that said...the "Sleeve is working nicely for my friend and her daughter. They both had their surgeries a month apart.OMG!!!they are doing well....so....its up to you...:-))
  17. Postponement is not an option....Get it done....too many others are waiting to get your spot!!!God is with you!
  18. SuninUT, Absolutely!!!!!I tried to go with the sleeve but it reminds me of the band....the hot thing at the time!!!!I agree ....this revision is it...."Bypass all the way!!!
  19. Dream4tc, Yay...its out!!!!!I would do the same....just to be safe....hospital will monitor you....November will be here in no time! The Gold Standard once and for all!!!!
  20. No longer undecided.....just need to change doctor....not happy with this new one.....
  21. Soexcited, Absolutely!....I am hoping that this insurance will approve and pay for this revision. Its all done laparoscopically so it is all the same.My friend had the sleeve done 2 months ago....yes she is losing and happy but she admitted to eating a bit too fast and sliming up....I have severe acid reflux and my stomach needs a rest...I am not looking to cut 85% of it out.Its good like how the "band" was good at the time....not falling for the hype again."Gold Standard" with proven results....I got off the sleeve forum because it's not happening.....I havE read on other forums of leakage etc.....bypass....for sure.
  22. Wow...I need this band out...hopefully I won't be denied.
  23. Bobbe what is the update did you appeal ???
