I have opted for the RNY...my acid reflux from the band is outrageous.Unfilled still having problems.Bypass for me all the way....

Leroy Mann This is absolutely how I feel.I already chose a half ass lapband that Has caused me pure misery since 2004 not to mention .my teeth and gums are screwed and I have severe acid reflux and port pain...and...I am the vomit queen!!!!!The biggest reason is that I only initially lost about 40 pounds and have really struggled.....I am as fat ass as ever and miserable...seeking a revision to what I should have done in the first place!!!bypass!!!!and for anyone who wants to raise the ...."re routing invasive euphemism"...spare me...my esophagus is screwed up and my stomach is beat up and the amount of slime and vomit is sickening...port pain...please...I would be crazy to subject my very lapband abused stomach to cutting 85% out....I am lapband miserable and in pain as I type....mmm....silicone...,should of thought about that before I developed breast cancer....just saying.....,,silicone...ok..

Yes we have got to get this weight off!!!you will be fine my friend who just got the sleeve is losing nicely...she is about a 55 BMI she has lost 45 pounds in 3 months.She just joined a gym for the first time.She is walking with her daughter who had the surgery several weeks before her.She looks and feels great.One thing with the sleeve...you must eat small meals frequently...this is good.With this band I am belching and burping ready to barf at any given moment...can't eat right now and I am starved...this is abuse.

I was going for the sleeve but the band did a number on my stomach and esophagus...RNY for me final decision...my stomach has been band abused...not cutting out 85% of my stomach.Never can get that back...,but my friend who just got her first time sleeve is doing very well....

Not sure what which procedure you are having but you will be fine!!!!!!You are going to do this!!!!If you feel you need the psych do it in the near future but get the surgery...take a deep breath and relax....good luck..you can do this!!!!

Katybelle7 I was sick too...the med's did me in....hope it never returns....was going for the sleeve but opting as you know for the RNY...yes in the back of my mind I worry about me really being able to keep it up...it is funny with the band I envisioned the moon and the stars....second time around with the abuse and pain the band has caused....not feeling so adament about my ability to get and keep the weight off..but I have to.My life depends on it. The band has made me an involuntary bulimic.I constantly worry about what I can and can't eat.Sept 3 is around the corner and the future is going to be fantastic for you!

India ...you are so right!!!!You are going to be fine....the sleeve is an extension to RNY anyway...most sleevers will be coming down the pike to RNY....the "Sleeve"won't be the flavor of the month....and a lot of sleevers will have failed ...not all but some...and they will realize that RNY is inevitable.I just sat down and researched and really decided to be honest with myself.....This lapband is no longer the hot new "Thang" in weight loss.
