  1. Beck 90,Whatever it takes do it..6 months can go by very fast .Get Medicaid to cover...I got NJ Medicaid.i don't have the finances for anything out of pocket.Not even vitamins right now.
  2. Shouldn't you be able to get approval for revision because of band failure...slippage,hernia?
  3. So wait approved for surgery or approved to see a doctor?you called and got an approval or your PCP wrote you a referral to see a bariatric doctor.?
  4. You want well known and reputable.I also like to do a check on each doctor I am interested in.healthgrades,vital.com.Also google them and get patient reviews.You have a lot of options in Ny.I am a NY now living in NJ.:-)

  6. Dr.Kurian is fantastic...last I heard she now has her own practiceShe used to be with Lennox Hill...by the way great doctors and NYU...great group of doctors......Any of the doctors at LenoxHill.NYU has a bariatric group with great doctors.Montefiore group.

I have this plan...I am trying to get a revision from lap band to sleeve.All the doctors in our plan are located in South Jersey so I have to drive Aan hour and a half.You need to just approach it differently.Talk to your PCP...get a referral to a bariatric doctor...excuse me....surgeon in the plan....get ready to travel to Camden,Vineland,Cherry Hill or Voorhees NJ because those are the only areas approved.Dr.Patel,Dr.Attia,Dr.Salcone and a few others take our plan but you need to get a referral for a consult...Also plan a method of attack...keep records of your weight loss programs...hoops...

  10. Not yet...still going through the steps trying to get insurance to pay for my revision.Was at the ER...hiatal hernia.In the process of seeing a gastro doc...gathering all info to submit to the insurance company.Revision is a must..,this band is messing me up.

  13. Go sleeve Stay away from the lapband.I say sleeve because you want to bear children...seems safer.

  15. I just want to stop this vicious reflux and vomiting with this lapband.
  16. A friend of mine who is really heavy and her daughter who is really heavy just got th sleeve a few weeks apart in the last 2 months...,wow.
