  4. I found a bow all leather shoe from sketchers...it is like very orthopedic with great cushion. It has helped a great deal.
  5. My doctor didn't require me to do all liquids...soft foods.breakfast very runny cream of wheat, protein drink or puréed soup,no sugar, dinner protein drink steamed vegetables in broth and a small piece of fish steamed in broth.I did this until 3 days before surgery then it was all liquids...day before all clears...and citrate of magnesia and another laxative. My system was clean and no problems...
  6. I have had this same thought going through my head all day. Surgery should be last resort for morbidly obese or obese with comorbities. I can't imagine going through WLS when only having 50lbs or less to lose. Someone going through surgery next week is starting at my GOAL weight.50 pounds is a lot of weight to lose...and if you don't get the surgery you may never get it off...don't let anyone talk you out of your decision to get it done...The wight must come off..I suspect if you were able to do it on your own you would have already....make the right choice for you.
  7. After going with the "it " procedure 15 years ago I revised to RNY...The lapband was the worse thing ever.A foreign silicone anything is the worse ever.I suffered and developed all kinds of issues from slippage to erosion...Do your homework before you jump in ."Sometimes the least invasive is the most invasive"...a quick fix that cause damages down the road to your body therefore you will seek a revision....try to avoid this.
  8. I take BariMelts,A good bariatric multi Vitamin my doctor suggested, liquid Vitamins, chewable Calcium ,Biotin,D3 and liquid collagen because my hair is thinning rapidly. Most important is the PROBIOTIC.I prefer the refrigerated type from vitamin shop ,whole foods or other vitamin stores.I range from strains from 30 billion to 80 billion.
  9. So in about a month...schedule ASAP and get prepared.Your surgeon should give you a target date.Schedule you so once you get approval you are set.Get it done as soon as possible....your journey has begun...
  10. Congratulations...your journey has begun....
  11. You body will tell you...if you eat too much...dumping will happen.
  12. I felt that way for the first 2 months. Now I am hot all the time...
  13. Don't worry Kimmey...just concentrate on you....get to your goal weight and feel great about "YOU".Take care of yourself...the guys are out there. The weight is an issue for a lot of men...nobody wants to say it but a lot of guys can't handle being seen with the "fat girl".They don't all express it but hints come out in what they say.... Don't worry they are around...gain confidence and realize you are "The Prize"!
  14. Go to the emergency room!
  15. I struggle with the water ...if I drink to much at a time it burns.
  16. I get the refrigerated kind from vitamin shoppe or whole foods ...I am up to 80 million because I really need it.The have various strains....but I can say I feel the difference. No more yeast infections and thrush.
  17. I got RNY...no reflux ...no regrets!!!!
  18. I think I need to cut back on my 1 serving of oatmeal in the morning in order to lose more weight.I need suggestions for something fast and easy when I am on the run...my alternative is always boiled eggs....boring...yogurt...
  19. I will cut out oatmeal for breakfast then.I eat it for fiber....
  20. I have been very strict.Water only ,occasionally I drink coconut water.I would drink Isopure drinks pre op now I can't stand it and I hate that stinging aftertaste. The same with sports drinks....I hate that aftertaste.
  21. No way!I was 51 back in Dec.2015.You will feel so much better. It is a slower steady weight loss as you get older but after the torture of the lapband ...it's easy!!!I feel 100% better.
