  1. Considering the endoscopic sleeve revision. Has anyone ever had it done post sleeve?
  2. Wanted to comment back on this post. This helped my food addiction. I no longer consider myself a food addict or a compulsive over eater. The surgery forced me to find alternative ways to deal with my emotional triggers. Beyond grateful I did this!
  3. Wanted to update! I'm down to 200.6 pounds now! Planning on getting well into the 100's before I'm satisfied lol. Love this decision!
  4. Everyone loves to tell me that since I'm still young, I won't need plastic surgery when I'm done losing weight. Not so sure about that. I see guys who now weigh more than I do, but look better. I still look like I have a little gut, even though my BMI is no longer obese. I'm trying firming creams and wraps soon, but just curious if anyone else around our age had to have an abdominoplasty or liposuction. Here are my stats: 28 5'11 HW 347 SW 317 CW 200
  5. As someone who works in surgery on a daily basis, I doubt your lack of compliance with the diet caused your perioperative complications, unless it was related to your liver being fatty, which would have been reduced a little if you followed the diet accordingly. But I'm glad you used it as a wake up call that you need to listen to your surgeon and follow his directions accordingly.
  6. I'm really excited now! 3 days until I'm sleeved! And I've been doing well on my diet. I don't even crave food that much unless I'm actually hungry now. What an amazing concept lol
  7. Nice to meet all of you! 10 more days!
  8. I'm 28 and have about 100 pounds I'd like to lose. I have surgery in 10 days. I'm trying to use stories and before/after pics to keep me on track with this wretched preop diet LOL
  9. 28 year old dude here, HW 347 CW 323 GW 200. I get sleeved in 16 days, and I'm on day 6 of 21 days preop liquid diet. Looking for some inspiration, stories, NSV's, pictures! Anything to keep on my cell phone when cravings arise. I appreciate it! Looking forward to wrestling my life back in order and getting over these food addictions and demons!
  10. Hey everyone! I'm getting sleeved in 22 days! ???? I'm beyond excited, but also anxious as hell. Not because of the surgery or recovery, but rather with my ability to be compliant. I start my 21 day preop liquid diet tomorrow. I'd love a buddy or mentor to help me out during the next few weeks. If you'd like to give me some advice, I'd love to hear from you! Thanks! I'm 28, HW 347 CW 330
  11. Just asked for an additional week. Two was just too close. Three weeks sounds amazing to just get used to the sleeve and start light exercise.
  12. I'm a CRNA and took 2 weeks off. Do you guys think that's enough? I work 8's, 10's, and 12's. If I work endo, I'm on my feet for most of the shift. But if I'm in surgery, I get to sit. Of course I can't eat or drink while there, so I plan on sipping between cases. What do you guys think?
  13. First of all, I'm getting sleeved in 30 days! I can't even wrap my head around it yet, but I need to. I'm also undergoing therapy with a certified mental health counselor. I am a compulsive over eater and probably a food addict. I rarely eat when I'm hungry, instead I go all day without eating and binge at night after work. I start my 21 day preop liquid diet in 9 days. I've considered doing a test run day where I just do liquids, but silly as it sounds, I don't want to sacrifice a day of eating my favorite foods in the quantities I want. Because I know those days are now numbered. This has made my therapist nervous, and he thinks I might not do well postop when I cannot engage in my compulsive behavior. He also thinks that my eating and fatness is a defense mechanism or a security issue. He's worried I'll rupture my sleeve trying to eat too soon postoperatively, or too much. Some might ask why I would consider a restrictive procedure when I'm so out of control. This is a last ditch effort to get back in control. I'm only 28, but I already have sleep apnea and GERD. I work in healthcare, I'm getting my doctorate, and I'm a smart cookie. But this addiction is killing me, and I feel that this is an extreme step that will help me do a HARD RESET on my mind and body. I need to relearn my relationship with food, and only use it for fuel for the rest of my life. I can't allow my happiness to be contingent on what and how much goes into my mouth. Phew, now that that's done, here's my question. To those of you who identify or consider yourselves to be or have been compulsive over-eaters or food addicts...did the surgery help? I unfortunately jumped on the duodenal switch forums and read a few posts about VSG patients who stretched their sleeves and had to do the switch in order to stop absorbing nutrients to lose weight. I don't want to go to that extreme, I don't want to be dependent on Vitamins and minerals and get blood tests more frequently than annually. I just want to be normal. What do you guys think? Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for the helpful comments.
  14. My doctor wants to prescribe me Contrave (Bupropion and naltrexone) to help me with food cravings and compulsive eating. He's worried I'll hurt myself after the band trying to binge eat the foods I crave. Does anyone have any experience with this drug and can I take it after the surgery? If it helps, it'll be a big relief for my postop dietary compliance.
