  1. Thank you all for this insight. I guess I really won't know what it's like untill i'm banded and April 28th.
  2. Mine was 40.5 w/no comorbidities. I was told any BMI over 40 should get approved and I was. Hopefully, yours will be the same.
  3. Anyone out there from South OC?
  4. Is there anyone out there from South Orange County. I'm being banded at the end of April from Dr. Oliak in Orange.
  5. I just wanted to know what some of you are feeling with your bands. I know we are all different with different stomachs , etc. I just wanted a general idea .
  6. Do you have to chew and chew and chew and take tiny bites or can you eat pretty much like you did pre-band, just a little less?
  7. A similiar question was asked in another post but I wanted to hear from others so hear goes... I hear people say that before their first fill that they want to eat everything in site. I'm wondering... Do you feel the same unfilled (as no band at all), or do you still have to eat small bites and chew, chew chew or can you eat pretty much the same way as you did before the band. I'm asking this to people who have no restriction when they''re unfilled.
  8. Kat817. Thank you for your post. I'll be banded at the end of this month. I think the trick to these fills is to take it really slow and be patient. Did you tell your dr. you wanted a very small fill or did he just do it that way?
  9. Grammylew. Did you go to Mexico and pay "out of Pocket" ?
  10. Wow Candle. You've lost 100lbs and feel little restriction. Arn't you lucky. I hope I have such great results after I'm banded on April 28.
  11. Thanks. Let us know under the heading "Alli."
  12. My migraines arn't as bad as some others but I always use Excederine Migraine. It usually helps me but I'm not sure if it's allowed with the band though. Anyone know if it is???
  13. I did'nt know you could take Alli after you're banded. Will it hurt your pouch or stomach?
  14. This question is directed ONLY at the people who feel no restriction before their first fill. Can you eat the same way ( that is the same amouts ) as you did before your band or do you have to take smaller bites and chew, chew, chew once you get the band. this question is for people with no restriction yet.
  15. Good question Ramone. I was wondering the same thing myself. Also, if you do feel the same unfilled (as no band at all), do you still have to eat small bites and chew, chew chew or can you eat pretty much the same way as you did before the band. I'm asking this to people who have no restriction when they''re unfilled.
  16. I'm wondering how much time my husband should take off work after my surgery. We're you able to take care of yourselves a few days after surgery?
  17. Anyone out there from South Orange County. I live in Coto de Caza.
  18. Does anyone know about a website for bandsters that tells us what medications we can take and what should be avoided? Someone mentioned it once in a thread but I've forgotten it. If anyone knows, please tell us.
  19. I'm not yet banded but I was wondering when newly banded people say they are starving and could eat anything they want, do they really mean they could eat like before the band or do they mean they could eat a lot but they have to chew and chew and chew?
  20. Chrisann. About how often do you take them? I'll be banded next month. Excedrine is the only thing i've found to get rid of a head ache. I don't take them too often, maybe 2 or 3 a month. I'm hoping that's allowed.
  21. GraceUtah, Can you tell me what an average daily menue is like for you?
  22. Is Excedrine OK to take with a lapband?
  23. Does anyone out there know if there is a website for bandsters that tell us what medications to avoid (like motrin). I've heard people refer to it but I don't know what they're talking about.
  24. Nukechick, what is "the lapband site" you referred to in the above post? Does it list the medicines we can and cannot take?
  25. So do you think all the people on here who are talking about sugar free everything and protein shakes when they go out to dinner are only in there first 6 weeks of being banded? I hope so because I really don't want to eat out all the time and have to take a protein shake with me.
