  1. Timetobandme, I've been thinking the same thing lately. The band should help us eat smaller portions so why is everyone so consumed with sugar free everything and protein shakes. As long as we don't eat ice cream and junk, can't we just eat normal foods, only less of it?
  2. For all of you out there who don't want your husbands eating food in front of you, what are you doing about your families meals?
  3. My migraines are probably not as severe as some other peoples. "Exederine Migraine" has always worked for me before the band. I'm just wondering if we could take "Exederine Migraine" medicine after the band.
  4. Excederine Migraine usually helps me but are we allowed to take it with our bands?
  5. Thanks Grace Utah. I'll talke to my doctor about it. Do you know if there's any "over the counter" medicine available for bandsters that works?
  6. Does anyone know what kind of migraine headache medicine bandsters can take that's over the counter and works?
  7. I wonder if I mash it up and drink it with water if that would work. I know it will taste bad but it will be worth it to get rid of headache.
  8. But isn't Excederine asperine and doesn't that hurt the lining of the stomach? I hope you're right because that's the only thing that will knock out my headache.
  9. Does anyone know if Excederine Migrane Medicine is OK to use occasionally for bandsters?
  10. Snowbird, I'll check with my dr. but I sure hope you're right. There's no way peppermint oil on the wrists and temples are going to get rid of my migranes.
  11. Are we allowed to take excederin migraine? That always works great for me.
  12. I agree with the previous poster. This is your new life. It's all so new to you now but you'll have to accept that everyone will be eating lots of food around you. It's not that they're being insensitive, they're just doing what you were doing before the band. Good luck.
  13. That's great to hear from all of you because I've been worried a lot about going out to dinners with my husband and friends. Does everyone always comment on the amount of food your eating or is there any way to make it look like you're eating more than you really are to keep them quiet.
  14. Ambien was like a miracle for me. A few years ago I had surgery and the weeks following it I could not sleep at all. Literally, it was like a light bulb was turned on in my head. i'd fall asleep around 4 am and then would get up at 6 am day after day. (I wonder if it had anthing to do with the general anasthesia. ) Anyway, I tried all the useless things the doctors recommended- relaxing baths, relaxation CD's , melatonin, dimming the lights a few hours before bed, soothing caffiene free teas, etc. Nothing worked until a dr. perscribed ambien. For me it really was a miracle. Suddenly, about 6 straight hours of sleep night after night. I took it for about 2 weeks and now just take about 1/3 of one occasionally.
  15. Siemers17. Did you have your lapband surgery and if so, how are you doing? i'll be banded by Dr. Oliak also. Everyone there has been so nice but I'm still scared.
  16. Is there anyone out there who drinks a little water with their meals? I'm not banded yet, but the thought of no water with my meals just kills me.
  17. AthinnerDenise, Is it true that if you don't have a fill, you can pretty much eat as much as you use to or do things get stuck? I havn't been banded yet.
  18. That happened last time I had surgery (not lapband surgery). I was up night after night - wide awake like there was a bright light bulb on in my head. I wonder if it has something to do with the anasthesia. Finally, my dr. prescribed ambien. It was like a miracle for me. After about 2 weeks of barely sleeping, I was able to get some sleep. It was easy to stop taking the ambien too.
  19. Maybe $700 is for a year of fills, not each fill.
  20. My last reply was meant to be directed at "Bexter."
  21. Was it because you didn't chew enough? How long did it take for you to feel better? Did it come back up? I'm being banded next month.
  22. Indigo, I have not been banded yet so I'm still thinking like an overweight person. That's why I was asking if i could eat steak or lobster before my first fill or do most people have restriction before their first fill.
  23. i was thinking,I'll have my first fill after the cruise so do you think I'll be able to eat a little lobster on the cruise?
