  1. Tink, I sure hope you're feeling better soon. Keep us posted.
  2. allykat, I'ts great to hear you're feeling better. I'm getting banded next month and have a feeling I'll be feeling the same as you and Yazmin afterwards. I'm so glad to hear that you're feeling better once you started soft foods. Good luck and please keep us posted.
  3. Hi Yazmin, I'm getting banded next month and have been second guessing my decision for a few months now. I have a feeling I'll feel like you did that first week and I'm very nervous about that. Are you feeling different now that you're eating more and the pain is going away?
  4. Allykat and Yazmin, How are you feeling now. I hope you're feeling better. Keep us posted.
  5. Yaz. Are you feeling better and what did you decide about your lapand removal?
  6. Hi Tink. I'm being banded next month and your experience scares me, especially since the dr. doesn't seem to be taking it seriously. Did this just happen suddenly or have you felt bad all along? Are you feeling any better?
  7. I met a lady in the lapband office waiting room who said she never told her 2 kids -ages 11 and 14 about the lapband. Her surgery was a year ago and she said that she had a hernia operation and now she says she's just watching what she eats to loose weight. She said it's no ones business but her and her husbands and she doesn't want her kids telling anyone.
  8. Yaz. Are you feeling better and what did you decide to do about the lapband removal?
  9. I thought by the 7th week, you move into the real food stage. When did you move into the real food stage?
  10. I'm going on a cruise 7 weeks after my lapband surgery. Can I eat any steak and lobster before my first fill?
  11. I'm going on a cruise 7 weeks after getting my lapband. Can I eat a lobster if I don't have my first fill yet?
  12. destynee, I'm going on a cruise 7 weeks after surgery. Will I be able to eat a lobster if I don't have my first fill yet?
  13. Has anyone not told thier kids about their lapband surgery? I'd like to not tell my kids. I don't want them to think they could eat anything they want and think they could just get surgery when they grow up.
  14. How did you keep it from them when you came home in pain from the hospital and only drank liquids and ate mushies for weeks and now eat very little.
  15. Has anyone not told thier kids about their lapband surgery? I'd like to not tell my kids. I don't want them to think they could eat anything they want and think they could just get surgery when they grow up. I have 4 normal size kids and 1 a little overweight.
  16. I'm a pre-bander and I'm reading all these posts about PBing and Sliming and it's scaring me. About how many times do people PB and Slime in a given week?
  17. Anyone from South Orange County been banded lately. I'm scheduled with Dr. Oliak in Orange in April. Are you glad you did it and what support groups (if any) do you attend?
  18. Hi I am scheduled to have the lap band in April but am getting kind of nervous about it. Are you happy about it now that you've had it a few years?
  19. Hi Flowergurl, You talked about the bills for your surgery ready to come in. I'm just curious. Didn't you get your surgery approved before hand and didn't they tell you what your out of pocket expenses would be? I have So Cal Blue Cross.
  20. I'm in a similiar situation. We are going on a cruise on june 20th. My surgery is April 16 - about 8 weeks before our cruise. Should I wait to gety my first fill until after our cruise?
  21. Gonna b Free Thanks for telling me about your experience. I'm now starting to learn that the lap band is only a tool but we have to have some self control. Tell me, when you went to Disney on vacation before your fill, were you able to eat like before your surgery-like bread and bigger helpings?
  22. Thanks for your replies. My insurance approved me within one month of walking into the doctors office for the first time that I really hav'nt had time to think about the after effects of the surgery. I keep reading about people who are disappointed with their lap band but I am now going to focus on the majority who are happy with thier lap band.
  23. Does anyone know anything about Dr. Oliak in Orange, California?
  24. I'm beginning to chicken out of the surgery. Is it worth giving up food and never getting stuck or PBing or sliming. I'm not sure if I want to live life like that. Should I have the surgery?
  25. Is there anyone out there who keeps changing their minds? I was approved very quickly by my insurance but I keep delaying setting up a surgery date. I know I have to loose weight but I'm not sure it's worth giving up food that I love for the rest of my life. My husband and I love going to nice restaurants and on cruises (where there's always lots of good food). It seems like most people are so excited about it all. I don't know if I really want to give up this great pleasure in life so I won't schedule my surgery date. Anyone else felt like this?
